Réva winery focuses on producing wines of excellence with extreme attention to the particular characteristics of each grape variety and the utmost respect for diversity. All the vineyards are cultivated organically and the estate is run by a group of young professionals who value both tradition and innovation.

Coming from a 0,6 ha vineyard in San Sebastiano, Monforte d'Alba, this Dolcetto macerated on the skins for 15 days while fermenting spontaneously. The wine aged for six months in stainless steel tanks before being bottled. The wine is fresh, with intriguing scents of almond and red cherry, pepper and lavender. A great balance of acidity and tannins in the mouth makes it an unmistakeable, highly pleasurable wine.

Dolcetto will pair well with many foods, and its light tannins make it especially congenial with salumi, sausages, pastas with mushrooms or meat sauces and pizzas.

About the Winery

Réva

Hailing from Piedmont, the northwest corner of Italy, Réva has a dynamic relationship with tradition: respect without excessive obedience, knowledge without stuffiness. This attitude is reflected in the search for a personal style that is free to communicate their character through the extraordinary expressive possibilities of the Langhe and the Barolo area.

The winery focuses on producing wines of excellence with great attention paid to the particular characteristics of each grape variety and the utmost respect for diversity. All the vineyards are cultivated organically and monitored directly by the winery team.

The winery’s roots go back to 1867 however In 2010 the winery underwent a thorough reconstruction and the acclaimed Gianluca Colombo became head oenologist. Despite his youth, Gianluca has a great deal of experience and in 2014, received the Premio Gambelli award – a prestigious award for winemakers under 35.

91 Points - David Lawrason

Here is a very pretty, classic Dolcetto to take for a spin if you are unfamiliar with this variety. It is deceptively deep in colour but quite light bodied and fresh. The nose is notably floral - red rose - with grapy, blackberry fruit and subtle spice. It is medium bodied, quite juicy and fresh with mild tannin. The length is very good to excellent. Chill lightly and enjoy with charcuterie.
