Rich & Sweet
A small property of 9 hectares, Quinta da Colmaça has been producing Vintage Port and LBV independently since the start of the 21th century. Port is Portugal's flagship: an aged, sweet fortified wine that comes in a wide range of styles, largely based on ageing techniques.
Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Port is a ruby Port from a single year, chosen for its high quality and bottled after aging for four to six years in wood. Quinta da Colmaça's is a blend of Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Nacional; aged for 36 months in barrels. This is a very sweet and full-bodied wine, characterised by a big tannic structure and medium-high acidity. The nose is all about aromas of dried cherries, plums, raisins, chocolate and spices like cinnamon.
Port can be a very fun wine to play with. If you prefer your food pairing salty, try this wine with a cheese board, and don't forget about the blue cheese. The saltiness of the cheese versus the sweetness of the wine is an exceptional pairing. If you have a sweet tooth, this pairs well with most desserts.

A true expression of Portugal 40% Touriga Francesa 25% Tinta Roriz 25% Tinta Barroca 10% Touriga Nacional. Rich in flavour and colour. Dark plum, cassis, leather and spice on the nose. The palate follows with good tannic structure, plush fruit and smooth finish. These grapes are manually harvested in crates, de-stemmed by hand. Tradition at it's best and definitely a must try!
