Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer and pioneer in the Burgundy winemaking scene. He grew up in a family dedicated to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's. The Maison Roche de Bellene offers a complete range of carefully cultivated and versatile wines, often made from old vines. All of the Maison wines are made with respect to sustainable and natural farming practices, with as little intervention as necessary to showcase their individual terroirs.

This wine blends rounded, fruity flavours with a subtle kiss of harmonized oak at an incredible value. Juicy orchard fruit notes shine through on the nose and palate woven between blossoming layers of toasted spices and herbs. Pure mineral acidity accentuates the fruit well into the long finish.

Excellent with quiche or savoury tarts made with delicate, flaky pastry.

94 Points - David Lawrason

This is a quite robust and powerful chardonnay, not quite as elegant as some northern Cote de Beaune neighbours, but it is punchy and complex and quite compelling. Just heading into maturity as well with toasty notes, walnut, lemon, pear and subtle herbality. It is full bodied, mineral and a bit lean, with a sour edge. Excellent to outstanding length.
