Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer and pioneer in the Burgundy winemaking scene. He grew up in a family dedicated to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's. The Maison Roche de Bellene offers a complete range of carefully cultivated and versatile wines, often made from old vines. All of the Maison wines are made with respect to sustainable and natural farming practices, with as little intervention as necessary to showcase their individual terroirs.

An attractive nose showing bright notes of sweet berries and tart cherries along with dried lavender, toasted sweet spices and lightly seared hazelnuts. There's great flavour and energy on the palate, which uncovers crunchy black fruits, dried tea leaves and an underline of baked nuts. Voluptuous as well as elegant and sporting lively acidity, the  tannins are integrated, carrying the fruits seamlessly into the long finish.

Chambertin wine pairs beautifully with poultry dishes such as roast chicken and quail, as well as with delectable Epoisses cheese, game meats, pan-seared sirloin, or roast beef.

92 Points - Sara d'Amato

Delicately spiced, salty, and generously perfumed with blossom, jasmine, juniper and dried floral. Elegant and polished with delicate and well-integrated wood spice that elevates the fruit. Flavours emerge on the palate of cardamom, licorice, bayberry, laurel and tilled earth. The lacy tannins give the an ethereal mouthfeel and lively acids that are beginning to sour provide tension and poise. A slight bit of oxidation signals early maturity. Excellent length.
