A family run company now in it’s third generation, the Albeldense Distilleries were originally founded by Carmelo Rodríguez Ruíz in the Riojan municipality of Albelda de Iregua in 1963. Crafted from Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes grown in the Ebro Valley, the winery benefits from the convergence of Atlantic and Mediterranean influences, producing wines with balanced structure and rich aromas. The vineyard is carefully tended applying environmentally friendly methods to the low-yield bush vines. The vermouth is infused with nearly 50 botanicals—including classic flavours like Artemisia, Gentian, citrus peel, and cinnamon, alongside local herbs such as santolina, rosemary, sloe, and juniper—harvested from nearby natural reserves. This gives San Bernabé its distinctive character, making it a true symbol of tradition, quality, and reliability in the world of vermouth.
Inspired by traditional barrel-aged vermouths, this classic tavern-style blends fine white wines with ten botanicals—including Wormwood, Gentian, Chamomile, and Quinine—and rests in old oak barrels to develop a rich, layered bouquet. Pouring a dark mahogany with orange trim, it offers herbal, citrus, coffee, and cocoa notes; Well-rounded, with equal measures of sweet, bitter, and tart.
Perfect for your next Manhattan or Negroni.
