Nestled at the foot of the Corton hillside in Aloxe-Corton, Château Corton Caroline is one of Burgundy’s most iconic landmarks. Built in the late 19th century atop 15th-century cellars, this listed monument is the region’s most photographed site after the Hospices de Beaune. Legend has it that Emperor Charlemagne once owned vineyards here in the 8th century and planted Chardonnay to keep his white beard unstained.
The estate’s seven hectares span thirteen prestigious appellations—including Corton, Corton-Charlemagne, Meursault, Volnay, and Pommard—each part of Burgundy’s mosaic of climats, where the expression of terroir has been refined for centuries.
Under the ownership of Caroline Frey, renowned oenologist and winegrower, Château Corton Caroline unites Burgundian tradition with a sustainable, precision-driven approach. With intentionally limited production, each wine is crafted to capture the purity and character of its origin.
This Corton Grand Cru Monopole captures the essence of Aloxe-Corton, produced within the historic walls of Château de Corton where Burgundy’s excellence reaches its finest expression. The nose reveals a refined mix of red fruit and subtle floral notes, while the palate offers a harmonious balance of richness and finesse. Elegant tannins, a touch of oak, and impressive length highlight its depth and hint at it's promising longevity.
Aging potential: 10 to 20 years.

Historically, this vineyard was gifted by Emperor Charlemagne in 775 to the Saint-Andoche Collegiate Church in Saulieu. In gratitude, the Canons named the vines after their benefactor. The 2019 vintage opens with a fresh, fruit-driven nose featuring citrus, yellow fruit, and pear. On the palate, it is rich and energetic, balancing roundness with lively acidity, and culminating in a long, complex finish.
Ageing potential: 5 to 15 years.

The Moreau family has been settled in the heart of Chablis since 1884. Louis Moreau, the sixth generation, studied oenology and viticulture in California and took over from his father when he returned to France in 1994. Nowadays, the domaine's vineyards extend all over the four levels of the appellation: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Premier Cru and Grand Cru.
The 'Clos des Hospices dans les Clos', located in the Grand Cru Le Clos, belongs entirely to the Moreau family, and produces opulent and outstanding wines. On the nose, this wine is extremely expressive, with a very strong mineral character. The palate is vibrant with mineral too, showing impressive elegance and depth through the finish.
