Floral & Citrusy

The Baud estate dates back to 1742, today the 9th generation manages the winery. Siblings Clementine and Bastien, both under 30, are making some of the best value wines in the area. Jura is that narrow valley in the remote hills between Burgundy and Switzerland, which millions of years ago was covered by an Ocean and today still bares many of the fossils from that time. If you kick a stone in a Jura vineyard, it will probably be a fossil.

Silky and full bodied, this oak-aged Chardonnay exhibits classics notes of apples, white flowers and citrus. Grown on marl-limestone soils from the Triassic period, it is a balanced wine on the palate, with a distinctive complexity.

Have fun pairing this complex Chardonnay with a raclette or with poultry.

Leathery & Peppery

As at many family domaines with deep roots in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, vigneron Alexandre Favier was by his own account “raised in the vineyards”: Alexandre’s grandfather, Noël Sabon, is from one of the best known winemaking families in the region. Alexandre himself began his viticultural studies in Orange at the age of fifteen and passed the exams four years later in 2001. A year later (at age twenty!) he took over winemaking duties at the domaine when his father experienced health problems. Today, Domaine Chante Cigale is one of the most important family estates of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

This wine comes from 30-year-old vines grown in clay-limestone soil, composed of 80% Grenache and 20% Carignan. Hand-harvested with careful grape selection, it undergoes a short maceration of about a week and is matured in tanks on fine lees. The result is a brilliant red wine with a fresh nose of red fruits, balanced acidity, and soft tannins.

Best served chilled, it pairs well with grilled meats, cold dishes, cheese, and even chocolate cake. Ideal for enjoying young, it has an aging potential of 2–3 years.

Raised amidst the vineyards, Alexandre Favier is part of a long line of winemakers in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The Cicada Blanc is an unusual yet harmonious blend of Grenache Blanc (40%), Viognier (30%), and Picpoul Blanc (30%). The Grenache Blanc and Picpoul are sourced from clay-limestone soils in Richerenches, Vaucluse, while the Viognier comes from the Northern Rhône. Vinified in stainless steel with a short one-week maceration, the result is an easy-drinking, unoaked French table wine with citrus and pear aromas, a soft, rounded palate, and a silky mineral finish.

The arch that forms the rolling hills of the Tessari territory inspired the name Arcerus, an ancient toponym linked to the tradition and history of Brognoligo. A pure Garganega sparkling wine, it shines with a lively straw-yellow color and fine bubbles. It offers intense aromas of apple, elderflower, and chamomile, while the palate is fresh and persistent, featuring notes of bitter almond and a delicate perlage that highlights the grape’s mineral character.

White | Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier

Mas Carlot is situated in Costières de Nîmes, a beautiful pebbly land around Nîmes and Arles in the Southern Rhône, and makes some of the very best value wines in the whole of France. This blend of 60% Roussanne, 30% Marsanne and 10% Viognier is outstanding.

An elegant white that offers up notes of peach marmalade, apricots, honeyed pears, candle wax and a touch of buttered brioche. With a good fresh acidity as well as abundant fruit and flavour, this attractive, medium-bodied wine overdelivers.

'Revival' is a project that started during lockdown, and focuses on producing wine from previously-neglected old vines of País in the Maule, while at the same time supporting local farming communities. Darker and more serious than many País out there with proper complexity and depth, ripe flavours and round tannins without ‘rusticity’. This is the character of the grape on granite soils made in small lots with focus.

Saint-Romain sits in an isolated valley northeast of Auxey-Duresses. This wine is drawn from four distinct vineyard parcels—Les Poillanges, Aux Bas des Poillanges, La Perrière, and Sous le Château—all planted in 1957.

Bright and red-fruit driven, the wine is notably fresh and energetic, with tart fruit character at its core. Grainy, grippy tannins provide structure to the light, slightly funky flavours, while a gently austere edge and stony mineral note carry through the finish.

The wine's sleek tannins and refined acidity add sophistication to the lush fruit flavours, culminating in a serious, chewy finish.
