Fresh & Floral

In 2010, Joana and António founded Maçanita Vinhos after an invitation from a local Douro family who had read about these playful and ambitious sibling winemakers. Both siblings contribute to Maçanita Vinhos, but the challenging Douro Valley has been Joana’s passion project since the start, and Joana and her children even moved to the Porto area to be closer to the winery and vineyards. Setting down roots in the region has allowed her to focus her famous energy into expanding the rising star that is her Douro career.

The Cima Corgo sub-region, which is characterized by a cooler, less continental climate than the Douro Superior, gave rise to this Touriga, which shows a more floral, fresher and purer side. Aged for 16 months in neutral French oak barrels. Intense ruby-violet in color. On the palate, it is very fresh, with a strong fruit expression and a different level of ripeness.

Pairs beautifully with white and red meat dishes, both in traditional and modern cuisine.

Mineral & Zesty

Pale yellow in color with greenish nuances. Gouveio da Joaninha is a wine that expresses the variety in its purest version, where fruit and minerality are accentuated. On the palate it is powerful with great depth. Aged for 6 months in stainless steel.

Pair with grilled fish, mixed salads and white meat dishes.

Mineral & Spicy

Robert, whose family is originally from Hungary, was born in Canada and grew up on a farm. After some years working as an architect, he found his passion in winemaking, and relocated to his grandparent's country to start a winery.

Furmint is the historic grape of the region and this example shows its true strength. Alongside the lemon and lime rind nose, the palate is led by a lean minerality and exciting flavours that come from the various organically farmed vineyards across Szent György-hegy. The grapes are gently pressed, spontaneously fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks for 6 months. It has a complex character and long aging potential. 

Furmint complements herb-crusted poultry or fish. You can also try it with delicate Asian dishes like sushi or dumplings.

Welcome to the intimate world of Quevedo, a small, family-owned winery where quality is a treasured tradition. The Quevedo family's viticultural heritage spans over five generations, beginning with Abel Gouveia Costa, who planted the first vines in 1889. Through the years, the family diligently expanded their vineyards, culminating in the 1970s when Oscar and Beatriz Quevedo modernized their facilities and established the Quevedo winery in 1993. Today, Quevedo oversees 100 hectares of vineyards and 25 hectares of organic olive groves, with current proprietors Cláudia and Oscar Quevedo Jr. continuing the legacy of crafting exceptional wines.

The Bravo Red is led by notes of violets. It’s followed by a vibrant array of red fruits like raspberry, cherry, and red plum, with a subtle hint of black pepper adding a sophisticated layer. This wine is all about elegance and a silky mouthfeel. It’s incredibly smooth, with a refreshing and spicy finish that makes it dangerously seductive.

Ideal matches for this wine include light meat dishes, pasta, and cheese boards.

Located in San Patricio del Chañar in Neuquén Province, Bodega Malma was born from a pioneering winemaking project at the southern edge of Argentina, quickly earning acclaim for its high-quality wines. Founded in 2004 and run by the Viola family, the winery is fuelled by a deep passion for Patagonia and its distinctive terroirs. In collaboration with consulting enologist Hans Vinding-Diers, Bodega Malma has carefully crafted its portfolio while exploring the potential of each micro-terroir for different grape varieties. Guided by a philosophy of sharing Patagonia with the world, the winery brings the region’s unique character to life in every bottle. 

Named in honour of the family's first generation who sought their prosperity in Patagonia, the Chacra La Papay collection showcases Bodega Malma’s commitment to producing wines of substance without compromising approachability.

This fruit-forward style of Malbec shows bright aromas of raspberries, crunchy plums and cherries on the nose. The palate echoes the bright red fruit, revealing delicate violet florals and hints of vanilla spice from gentle oak ageing. Fresh and well-balanced, it combines structure with an easy-drinking style and plenty of character.

The Into the light White Blaufränkisch from Heinrich is an extraordinary orange wine from Burgenland, interpreting the red grape variety Blaufränkisch as a Blanc de Noirs — spontaneously fermented in wooden barrels and amphorae, unfiltered and without added sulphites.

Founded in 2015 by visionary oenologist Nikos Karatzas, Oenops Wines is based in the historic winemaking region of Drama in Northern Greece, the legendary land of Dionysus. Drawing on experience gained at some of the region's leading wineries, Nikos set out to champion Greece's indigenous grape varieties by partnering with dedicated growers who farm exceptional old vineyards across the country. Through these close collaborations, Oenops crafts wines that faithfully express both variety and terroir, combining meticulous winemaking with outstanding fruit sourced from distinctive vineyard sites to produce wines of remarkable authenticity and sense of place.

The winery's DOTS series showcases highly acclaimed, single-varietal wines made from Greece’s distinctive grapes, each expressing a refined and complex sense of character. The name “DOTS” is inspired by the optical illusion featured on the label, where the name of each grape variety is subtly revealed through a pointillist arrangement of coloured dots.

Sourced from exceptional terroirs in Naoussa and Amyntaio, this wine beautifully captures the essence of Xinomavro — lively, authentic, and true to the character of the land from which it comes. Showing a vibrant medium ruby colour, it opens with bright aromas of cherry, ripe strawberry, floral notes, and subtle spice. The palate is energetic and generous, with layers of tangy red fruit, juicy tannins, and refreshing acidity that bring balance and finesse. A long, intense finish completes this beautifully structured expression of the variety.

The Out of the Dark Blaufränkisch from Heinrich is an unconventional, biodynamic red shaped by a lighter flavour profile than expected from Blaufränkisch. It shows juicy red fruit layered with warm spice and mineral notes, supported by refined tannins and crisp acidity. 

Try this wine with beef carpaccio or coq au vin.

The Leithaberg Chardonnay is a mineral-driven wine, shaped by limestone and slate soils and aged 17 months in large wooden casks with spontaneous fermentation. It opens with aromas of minerality, citrus, lemon balm, stone fruit, and subtle earthy herbal notes. The palate is taut and structured, with firm acidity, a creamy texture, and a lightly phenolic grip, leading to a saline, herbaceous finish. Focused and restrained, it showcases elegance, precision, and a clear expression of its terroir.

The Weisze Freyheit is a distinctive blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc from Lake Neusiedl, showcasing a bold, modern skin-contact style with notable depth and structure. It opens with complex aromas of dried herbs, roasted nuts, brioche, and subtle mineral tones, layered with hints of orchard fruit and citrus blossom. On the palate, it is taut with a firm, slightly bitter grip, balanced by a juicy core and a lingering herbal, nutty finish. Overall, it is an uncompromising, intellectually engaging wine with a strong sense of character and precision.

The Blaufränkisch from Heinrich is an elegant, biodynamic red shaped by the contrasting chalky and sandy terroirs of Lake Neusiedl. It shows juicy berry fruit layered with floral, herbal, and mineral notes, supported by refined tannins and lively acidity. Matured in neutral oak, it’s a balanced, versatile wine with depth, ideal for pairing with hearty, rustic dishes.

Cheerfully juicy. This amber-coloured potion spreads its aromas around in a manner that’s equally expressive and unobtrusive… This wine can indeed call itself ‘orange’, though far more delicate and tender than the buzzword ‘orange’ might suggest.

The Heinrich Naked Orange is an approachable wine that pairs well with Salmon tartare with pickled raspberries, couscous salad with feta and cranberry, toasted sourdough bread with avocado.

She even relocated with her children to the Porto area to be closer to the vineyards, allowing her to focus her renowned energy on growing her Douro career and nurturing Maçanita’s rising profile.

The Letra F vineyard plots showcase a diverse array of grape varieties, planted at high altitudes on soils transitioning from schist to granite. While the Douro Valley is renowned for famous sites such as the Letra A vines used for Port production, Letra F has historically received less attention due to grapes with lighter concentration and structure. Yet, hidden treasures exist within these plots—vines planted long ago that reveal the diversity of terroirs and the untapped potential of the Douro region.

Made with more than 20 red & white varieties mixed, the nose unfolds with red berry fruits accented by floral shades of peonies and subtle mineral tones. On the palate, it's fresh and lively, supported by striking acidity and concentrated aromatics. Fine, long, and gripping tannins guide this medium-bodied red to a distinctly saline finish, making it both elegant and memorable.

Pairs beautifully with dark-fleshed fish, tartare, and grilled meats, as well as a selection of cheeses and lightly sweet desserts.

Blank Canvas is the personal wine range of husband and wife team, Matt Thomson and Sophie Parker-Thomson, MW. With a focus on Marlborough, Syrah from Hawkes Bay and Pinot Noir from Central Otago, the Blank Canvas wines are exciting, small-batch and increasingly recognized as the avant-garde of New Zealand wine. Every effort is put into making wines that are distinctive and cerebral, unencumbered by a regime or badge and are not beholden to tradition. Every vineyard, variety and vintage is approached as if it is a blank canvas.

The 2020 Element Syrah captures the rare combination of density and freshness found in the Gimblett Gravels, with a beautifully fragrant and textured expression of the site.

A high proportion of whole bunch and signature co-fermentation with Grüner Veltliner bring an alluring lift to the bouquet, revealing notes of violet, star anise, and smoked black pepper alongside black plum, bright currant, and savoury black olive. The palate is compact and finely structured, with vibrant acidity, cocoa-powder tannins, and a rich yet balanced texture. Subtle oak and lees ageing add depth and length while preserving the wine’s clarity and sense of place. Complex and expressive now, it also offers excellent potential to evolve with time, developing further layers of classic Syrah character.
