Heinrich Winery believes great wines express a true sense of place — something best achieved when vines thrive within a biologically diverse environment where soil vitality and natural symbiosis are preserved. Their ultimate aspiration is to let nature speak through their wines, guided by ethical and qualitative principles that shape every decision. Since converting to biodynamic viticulture in 2006, their goal has been to make the vineyards more resilient, vital, and diverse. Embracing minimal intervention, all wines ferment spontaneously, often spending weeks on the skins and aging unadulterated on their lees, primarily in used wooden barrels. Time — whether weeks or years — plays the central role in shaping their character, allowing each wine to develop balance and a distinctive aromatic profile. Through careful observation and minimal influence, they remain committed to crafting authentic, genuine wines that faithfully reflect their origin.

About the Winery
Oenops

Founded in 2015, Oenops, meaning ‘wine face’, is a pioneering project whose mastermind is the talented winemaker Nikos Karatzas. Following the micro-négociant system, Oenops aims to produce high quality, great value wines. Rather than owning vineyards, the company sources grapes from selected plots across Greece’s best terroirs, with a focus on cool-climate sites and old vines of indigenous varieties.
At the core of the company’s philosophy is the close partnership with ambitious growers who share a same sustainability-focused approach. Oenops mission is to source great fruit and craft wines that fully express its quality and sense of time and place. By using simple methods, led by the profile of the grapes rather than by any winemaking protocols, the company has built a range of authentic, fruit-forward wines that bring out the best of each variety, terroir and style.
The team tastes meticulously and tailors its approach to each plot and variety, based on the core philosophy and ethos. By vinifying each plot and variety separately the team has grown an understanding of the specificity of each vineyard and of the work done each year, in turn allowing for improvement in each vintage.
A repertoire of indigenous grape varieties, such as Malagousia, Assyrtiko, Vidiano, Roditis, Xinomavro, Limniona, and Mavroudi, is expressed through different styles of Greek varietal wines and in labels that have gained widespread recognition, among consumers and critics alike.
What the team at Oenops strives for is, ultimately, to produce tasteful, elegant wines that work as perfect companions to every meal and special occasion.

Dot Series is represented by the pointillist label for a xinomavro that does not scream fruit from the first nose. A definite Greek-ness, always to dramatic effect, not exactly earthy, definitely not musty, but something only Greek wines have. As if the day were a root day and as a result, wines will smell a certain way. In this case of Naoussa, along with sensorial notes in high acid, low alcohol, and an unshakable sense of place. Drink 2026-2029. Tasted July 2026.
90 points - John Szabo, MS
A clean and lovely, perfumed, firm and bright example of xinomavro, full of ripe cherry flavours in the varietal idiom. Tannins are also typically firm and dusty in the Italian fashion, but not overbearing, providing grip and textural relief, supported by firm acids. While it will continue to evolve, I'd suggest enjoying over the near term with salty protein to aid in the softening while still enjoying the vibrant fruit. Nicely done overall. Tasted July 2026.
90 points - Megha Jandhyala S.J.D., DipWSET
This is a charming xinomavro, with radiant flavours of perfectly ripe red fruit berries and cherries, alongside savoury herbal and bramble notes and a pretty floral aroma. Medium bodied and fleshy, with juicy acidity and characteristically finely grippy tannins. Unaffected and expressive, this wine shows both authenticity and varietal fidelity. The finish lingers pleasantly, ending on a subtly spicy note. Tasted July 2026.

This very pale almost copper shaded rose is made from three local varieties including high acid xinomavro. It is not highly aromatic with vague cherry pit, crabapple, grapefruit and saffron notes. I like its subtlety. It is mid-weight, firm, dry and even with an almost salty minerality on the finish. Again, not great depth of flavour, but I don't mind rose that stays out of the limelight. Very good length. Calm and refreshing.

Snapper Rock

New Zealand is unique, and so are Snapper Rock wines. The special combination of soil, climate and water, the innovative pioneering spirit and the commitment to quality all come together to deliver pure, intense and diverse wines. At Snapper Rock fruit is sourced from two of New Zealand's most famous wine producing areas, Marlborough, at the top of the South Island and the Hawkes Bay, on the east coast of the North Island.
Hawkes Bay’s alluvial plains, high sunshine hours and long ripening season create the ideal terroir for full bodied reds and it’s become a magnet for wine tourism.
Marlborough’s rolling valleys carved by ancient riverbeds and bright, long summer days with cool nights are ideal for the production of crisp, zesty whites and suave cool climate reds. Sauvignon Blanc propelled Marlborough onto the international stage and has ensured rapid growth over the last twenty years. Snapper Rock is one of a small bevy of boutique producers tending special blocks within the valleys, always looking to unleash Marlborough’s potential, and crafting wines of the land, pure, taut and focused.

Outstanding ‘A powerful bouquet driven by aromas of spices and dark red fleshed fruits, seasoned red meats and there’s layers of barrel and smoke, wood spices and pressed violets. Complex and youthful. Equally powerful on the palate with a firm taut texture from tannins and back bone of acidity; tempering and contrasting core fruit flavours of dark berries and spiced meats layer in complexity and mouthfeel. This wine needs more time, it is delicious already, dry and lengthy. Best drinking from very late 2023 through 2033

Proudly family owned, the Borthwick vineyard is an established vineyard situated in Gladstone, the heart of the Wairarapa. Producing quality wine for over a decade, Paddy, an experienced wine maker, has gained a reputation for producing consistently great wines. The twenty seven hectares of vines bordering the Ruamahunga River are growing on stony, free draining, alluvial soils, with a micro climate giving warm daily temperatures, cool nights and low rainfall; perfect conditions for producing distinctive, quality wines.
In line with the family’s legacy of international trade, 90 percent of the wine is exported around the world. Paddy believes in sustainability and best practice within a vineyard, developing an asset for generations to come.

There's no mistaking the variety with this wine showcasing flavours of sweet green pears and apple, there's fresh quince and honeysuckle quality, a touch of sweet lager and a fine lees texture. Nice weight and youthful tension along with a satin mouthfeel. Well made with a medium+ acid line. Best drinking from 2023 through 2026. Premium.

Paddy Borthwick knows pinot gris, and completes his assigned task, vintage in, and vintage out. From 2025 there is the added bonus of an extra layer of ripe, very fleshy, and clearly riveting fruit. A substantial pinot gris, bloody delicious and better for it all. Drink 2026-2028. Tasted July 2026.
90 points - Megha Jandhyala S.J.D., DipWSET
This is a lightly fleshy pinot gris, with a touch of sweetness, and that characteristic bitterness I associate with this variety. It is cast in the hue of an Alsatian-style pinot gris, with a sense of richness and ripeness. I like the texture of this wine most of all. Engaging flavours of tart orchard fruit and juicy lemons only add to its appeal and linger on the long finish. Tasted July 2026.
