Located in San Patricio del Chañar in Neuquén Province, Bodega Malma was born from a pioneering winemaking project at the southern edge of Argentina, quickly earning acclaim for its high-quality wines. Founded in 2004 and run by the Viola family, the winery is fuelled by a deep passion for Patagonia and its distinctive terroirs. In collaboration with consulting enologist Hans Vinding-Diers, Bodega Malma has carefully crafted its portfolio while exploring the potential of each micro-terroir for different grape varieties. Guided by a philosophy of sharing Patagonia with the world, the winery brings the region’s unique character to life in every bottle.
The Reserva de Familia line showcases wines that clearly express their terroir, featuring pure varietal aromas, balanced by elegant structure and careful barrel aging. The Familia Pinot Noir offers generous aromas of ripe plums and strawberry preserve, shaded by subtle notes of fragrant roses and sweet spice. On the palate, well-defined fruit is framed by gentle, drying tannins and medium-bodied weight, while bright, tart acidity extends the flavours, finishing with a lingering note of cocoa nibs and black tea.
Excellent with hors d'oeuvres or more substantial fare like roast chicken or pork with crispy root vegetables.
