The Land of Hope Trust focuses on providing high-quality education and skill development opportunities, empowering individuals for long-term social upliftment and contributing to positive economic and democratic evolution.

Rich & Spicy

CW Wines’ Schoolhouse wines come from a Coonawarra vineyard with a little history — the site was once home to a schoolhouse established in 1888, and each year the winery releases a special bottle in its honour. Today, the Schoolhouse Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the estate’s signature wines, showcasing the depth and character of Coonawarra.

This is classic Coonawarra Cabernet with a modern, polished feel. Ripe fruit, fine-grained tannins, and subtle oak come together in a way that’s generous without feeling heavy, with plenty of structure and balance.

Blackcurrant and black plum lead the way, followed by warming spice and cooling dried herbs. Rich and concentrated on the palate, with ripe dark fruit, fine tannins, and a touch of toasty oak, it’s powerful but beautifully in check.

Pour it with roast lamb, slow-cooked beef, grilled meats, or a board of aged cheeses.

Château Plaisance, an 18th-century country manor once owned by the renowned Bordeaux restaurateur Dubern, is set on a steep, sun-drenched hill in the heart of Bordeaux. Its 23-hectare vineyard, planted with 80% Merlot on clay soils and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon on sandy gravel, benefits from exceptional sunshine and warm temperatures, ensuring full grape ripening. Under the stewardship of Philippe Magrez, a fourth-generation winegrower, modern winemaking techniques are seamlessly combined with the finest Bordeaux traditions. The estate’s carefully crafted wines capture the character of the terroir, reflecting a deep respect for heritage and a passion for excellence in every bottle.

Opening with a red cherry–scented nose, leading into a lively, refreshing palate that remains light and fresh despite the ripeness of the fruit. Delicate notes of raspberry and black currant glide across the tongue, while subtle, mellow woody tannins lend gentle structure and a pleasing roundness to the texture, creating a balanced and approachable finish.

Lubanzi is a socially driven South African wine company founded in 2014, inspired by a backpacking journey along the country’s remote Wild Coast. The brand is named after a wandering dog that accompanied the founders for six days and nearly 100 miles of the trek—an experience that sparked the idea to share South Africa’s culture, landscapes, and wines with a global audience.

Working with respected winemaking partners including Trizanne Barnard and Bruce Jack, Lubanzi produces expressive wines that reflect the country’s diverse terroirs. The company also maintains a strong commitment to social impact, partnering with the Pebbles Project to support health and education initiatives for families living and working on South Africa’s wine farms.

Bursting with charm, this Cinsault Rosé opens with an inviting nose of fresh strawberries and cherries, layered with soft floral tones and a lift of tangerine zest.
