The term 'Les Guettotes', which lends itself as name to the Lieu-dit, dates back to the medieval period, referring to the lookout points once used to survey the countryside and protect travellers passing through the area.

The grapes for this wine come from a small, enclosed plot of approximately 1 hectare on a south-facing hillside.
