12.5% alcohol. This is beautifully fruit driven and pure with raspberry and cherry fruit, as well as some supple green notes. This is silky and fine with nice purity and good fruit presence.

Pale in colour and savoury in nature, Radford Dale's 2023 pinot is showing maturity on all fronts, with fruit shifted definitively into the dried/desiccated spectrum, building into pot pourri flavours. Drawn from two sites - an east-facing Stellenbosch parcel and north-facing Bot River vines planted to Burgundian clone 115 - it's whole-berry fermented and basket-pressed, then aged in 228L and 300L Burgundian barrels with no new oak, all of which shows in the wine's gentle, unforced framing. The palate is soft and supple, with silky tannins and still-lively, succulent acids. Depth and length are very solid indeed for the price, and styling is classic. Lovers of Bourgogne should take note. Tasted June 2026.

Juicy if rustic pinot noir laden with rooibos tisane, beet root and that unmistakable Western Cape twang. Sharp tang, great spirit and also heart from the team at Radford Dale. Drink 2026-2028. Tasted June 2026.

Radford Dale's Vinum is aromatically mild-mannered, though more fruit are discernible on the palate, including notes of dark cherries and strawberries, some fresh and some dried. Mostly fruity, this wine also shows nuances of woody spices herbs. The palate is medium bodied, with rounded ripe tannins, and sweet-balanced acidity, while the finish is long-lasting. This pinot noir is in its peak drinking window, ready to enjoy. Tasted June 2026.
