Husband and wife duo Ilya and Nadia started Leaning Post winery in Niagara over 10 years ago. Initially a virtual set up, the winery now located on Highway 8, has become a reference producer in Niagara.

“Orange” wine (skin-fermented white) is an ancient technique for making wine and we continue to explore its potential. Harvested on October 7, 2023, the grapes were destemmed, into concrete tanks where it went through a spontaneous fermentation. It remained in concrete and aged on skins for 25 days, then it was gently pressed into clay amphora (31%) and stainless steel (69%) for aging. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphite additions.

This Clockwork opens with vibrant aromas of elderflower honey, mandarin oranges, lemon curd, sweet Thai basil, and lemongrass. On the palate, it mirrors these notes while adding layers of honey, cream, and lemon, all carried by a rich, oily texture. A bright acidity, fine tannins, and a beautiful texture shape a dynamic finish that evolves as the wine warms. It pairs exceptionally well with briny or grilled seafood, such as oysters.

2 bottles x Villa Calcinaia Chianti Classico DOCG 2022 (Tuscany, Italy)
Red | Sangiovese, Canaiolo

Calcinaia's Chianti Classico is very aromatic and savoury, with bright red fruit and hints of roses, violets and dried leaves. On the palate it is supple and dry, with round fruit flavours, refreshing acidity and well integrated tannins. 

Chianti wines pair excellently with fatty dishes and stands up to tomato sauce dishes, such as pizza and pasta! It also pairs terrifically with rich pieces of meat: from cured meat boards to the regional classic bistecca alla Fiorentina.

2 bottles x Ca' del Monte Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore DOC 2018 (Veneto, Italy)
Red | Rondinella, Pelara, Negrara, Corvina

Ca del Monte is situated on the hillsides overlooking the village of Negrar, in the heart of Valpolicella. This Ripasso shows a pure red-berry and black-cherry bouquet with notes of grilled herbs, iris, violet and almond. With a great depth of flavour, the wine is silky and warm with a surprisingly elegant mid-weight mouth feel that finishes with plump fruit and a well integrated spicy/oak kiss. 

Pair this rich wine with game meats, roast chicken, wood oven pizza and pasta with full flavoured sauces. It is also amazing when served with aged cheeses.

2 bottles x Cascina Castlèt Barbera D'Asti 'Vespa' 2023 (Piedmont, Italy)
Red | Barbera

The vineyards of the estate are spread over 31 hectares, and are all located in Costigliole d'Asti. The clusters of Barbera were hand-harvested and unveil a rather aromatic wine with a crunchy fruitiness. The wine evokes blackberry and cherry on a delicately floral background. Balanced and delectable, there is even a subtle note of minerality.

A wine that will pair perfectly with white and red grilled meats, salami and young cheeses.

Fresh & Floral

In 2010, Joana and António founded Maçanita Vinhos after an invitation from a local Douro family who had read about these playful and ambitious sibling winemakers. Both siblings contribute to Maçanita Vinhos, but the challenging Douro Valley has been Joana’s passion project since the start, and Joana and her children even moved to the Porto area to be closer to the winery and vineyards. Setting down roots in the region has allowed her to focus her famous energy into expanding the rising star that is her Douro career.

The Cima Corgo sub-region, which is characterized by a cooler, less continental climate than the Douro Superior, gave rise to this Touriga, which shows a more floral, fresher and purer side. Aged for 16 months in neutral French oak barrels. Intense ruby-violet in color. On the palate, it is very fresh, with a strong fruit expression and a different level of ripeness.

Pairs beautifully with white and red meat dishes, both in traditional and modern cuisine.

Mineral & Zesty

Pale yellow in color with greenish nuances. Gouveio da Joaninha is a wine that expresses the variety in its purest version, where fruit and minerality are accentuated. On the palate it is powerful with great depth. Aged for 6 months in stainless steel.

Founded by Lou Miranda and now led by his daughters Lisa, Angela, and Victoria, the estate carries forward a legacy that began with their grandfather who immigrated to Australia from southern Italy in the late 30's with a passion for good wine and family. Today, the Mirandas produce all their wines from 100 acres of estate-owned vineyards spread across four sites within eight kilometres of the winery — including four treasured centenarian vine blocks, the oldest planted in 1897. Named in honour of the vineyard's golden autumn vines as they prepare for a new season of growth, the Gold Lion collection celebrates both the family's enduring winemaking heritage and the natural cycle that shapes each vintage.

Aromas of ripe dark berries, plum, and warm spice are complemented by subtle notes of vanilla and toasted oak. The generous, medium- to full-bodied palate layers rich dark fruit, chocolate, brown spice, and vanilla, with integrated tannins and a touch of sweetness adding balance and texture. Flavourful and well-structured, it finishes long with lingering notes of oak spice and ripe fruit.

Complex & Silky

Château de La Chaize is among the oldest, most historic estates in Burgundy’s Beaujolais region. Cared for by the same family for nearly three and a half centuries, the estate has been passed on to new owners, the Gruy family, who are equally committed to managing the estate with the utmost care, while implementing an ambitious environmental plan.

Pale yellow colour with golden reflections, the nose opens on notes of citrus fruits and pear, with a delicate hint of acacia blossom enriching the aromatic palette. Expect a clean and balanced palate, reflecting the generosity of a sunny vintage with a pleasant volume and a delicate, mouth-watering finish.

Chill and serve with shellfish, white fish, or soft goat cheese.

Welcome to the intimate world of Quevedo, a small, family-owned winery where quality is a treasured tradition. The Quevedo family's viticultural heritage spans over five generations, beginning with Abel Gouveia Costa, who planted the first vines in 1889. Through the years, the family diligently expanded their vineyards, culminating in the 1970s when Oscar and Beatriz Quevedo modernized their facilities and established the Quevedo winery in 1993. Today, Quevedo oversees 100 hectares of vineyards and 25 hectares of organic olive groves, with current proprietors Cláudia and Oscar Quevedo Jr. continuing the legacy of crafting exceptional wines.

The Bravo Red is led by notes of violets. It’s followed by a vibrant array of red fruits like raspberry, cherry, and red plum, with a subtle hint of black pepper adding a sophisticated layer. This wine is all about elegance and a silky mouthfeel. It’s incredibly smooth, with a refreshing and spicy finish that makes it dangerously seductive.
