Lighthall Vineyards is a small, proud, low volume and high quality winery located in enchanting Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. All their wines are produced in a non-interventionist manner and fuelled by passion as hearty as our vines. They also make cheese, designed to pair with their wines.

This, Lighthall's first edition of concrete aged Chardonnay, paints the clearest image yet of county terroir. Clear and authentic, the nose is brimming with honeyed apple, lemon yogurt, salted oyster shell, and beeswax. The flavours continue in the palate, but the star of the show is the opulent, luscious, yet elegant mouthfeel that lingers with finesse.

A brilliant seafood wine, this is a knockout with oysters, halibut, butter-poached cod,
lobster, crab, and scallops. Lemon chicken, rabbit, and quail are good meat options, while grilled asparagus, hummus, creamy orzo, and tofu souvlaki make delightful vegetarian picks. Rich, creamy, and mild cheeses are well balanced by the bright acidity and round texture.

Spicy & Tropical

Husband and wife duo Ilya and Nadia started Leaning Post winery in Niagara over 10 years ago. Initially a virtual set up, the winery now located on Highway 8, has become a reference producer in Niagara.

“Orange” wine (skin-fermented white) is an ancient technique for making wine and we continue to explore its potential. Harvested on September 30, 2022, the grapes were destemmed, into concrete tanks where it went through a spontaneous fermentation. It remained in concrete and aged on skins for 25 days, then it was gently pressed into clay amphora (35%) and stainless steel (65%) for aging. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphite additions.

This Clockwork opens with vibrant aromas of elderflower honey, mandarin oranges, lemon curd, sweet Thai basil, and lemongrass. On the palate, it mirrors these notes while adding layers of honey, cream, and lemon, all carried by a rich, oily texture. A bright acidity, fine tannins, and a beautiful texture shape a dynamic finish that evolves as the wine warms. It pairs exceptionally well with briny or grilled seafood, such as oysters.

Portrait of the Cape tells the story of a landscape through four exceptional wines. From ancient vines and forgotten varieties to windswept coastal sites and the vast diversity of the Swartland, each bottle offers a unique perspective on the people, places, and traditions that define the Cape.

Palladius combines multiple varieties from 17 different vineyard parcels to create a broad and intricate portrait of the Swartland region. The 2023 is fresh and vibrant despite 24 months of ageing, thanks to the influence of acid-driven, lower-alcohol varieties that bring energy and balance to the blend. Bright notes of lime, green apple, and salinity lead into a finely structured palate with polished tannins, focused acidity, and a long, elegant finish. A standout expression of the vintage.

Skerpioen (Scorpion) hails from a distinctive site between Dwarskersbos and Elands Bay on the West Coast. The 2024 vintage offers defined peach and citrus flavours with subtle tropical notes, evolving into the vineyard’s signature salty-brine character. With slightly lower acidity than usual, the aromatics suggest the wine is approachable earlier, making it one of the earliest-ready whites in the range.

Columella is a masterfully crafted blend of Mediterranean red varieties, selected for their affinity with the soils and oceanic climate of the Swartland. Composed of nine small, distinctive vineyard parcels, the wine captures the essence of the region, serving as a true ambassador of Swartland terroir.
