Villa Vitas, originally established in 1900 as a wine trading house in the duty-free port of Trieste, transitioned into winemaking under Romano Vitas' ownership in 1937, when he acquired the historic winery in Stassoldo along with an 18th-century villa.  Rooted in family tradition and a profound love for the land, the winery emphasizes traditional, regionally classic wines that reflect the historical and cultural heritage of northern Italy.  Their diverse range of varietals, including Friulano, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, and more, flourishes under ideal conditions, laying the foundation for their exceptional quality wines.

Opening with an aromatic bouquet characterized by an abundance of rich and spicy aromas. Roasted herbs and peppery, sweet spices mingle with black and blue fruit flavours, balanced by refreshing acidity. The fruit on the palate is supported by medium weight and gentle but present tannins, culminating in a concise yet satisfying finish.

A faithful companion of cured meats and a solid accompaniment to pasta dishes featuring sausage in a tomato-based sauce.

About the Winery

Vitas

The Vitas Winery has been in the family since 1935, for four generations. It is located in the wine-producing area of DOC Friuli Aquileia, on a clayey-marly and sandy-calcareous soil (the so-called Magredi), one of the ingredients which, together with the influence of the sea and a friendly sun, create a perfect microclimate for vine-growing. A lot of importance is placed on conserving the environment and they use methods that protect their natural resources and the surrounding environment
