Red | Sangiovese, Canaiolo

Calcinaia's Chianti Classico is very aromatic and savoury, with bright red fruit and hints of roses, violets and dried leaves. On the palate it is supple and dry, with round fruit flavours, refreshing acidity and well integrated tannins. 

Chianti wines pair excellently with fatty dishes and stands up to tomato sauce dishes, such as pizza and pasta! It also pairs terrifically with rich pieces of meat: from cured meat boards to the regional classic bistecca alla Fiorentina.

2 bottles x Ca' del Monte Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore DOC 2018 (Veneto, Italy)
Red | Rondinella, Pelara, Negrara, Corvina

Ca del Monte is situated on the hillsides overlooking the village of Negrar, in the heart of Valpolicella. This Ripasso shows a pure red-berry and black-cherry bouquet with notes of grilled herbs, iris, violet and almond. With a great depth of flavour, the wine is silky and warm with a surprisingly elegant mid-weight mouth feel that finishes with plump fruit and a well integrated spicy/oak kiss. 

Pair this rich wine with game meats, roast chicken, wood oven pizza and pasta with full flavoured sauces. It is also amazing when served with aged cheeses.

2 bottles x Cascina Castlèt Barbera D'Asti 'Vespa' 2023 (Piedmont, Italy)
Red | Barbera

The vineyards of the estate are spread over 31 hectares, and are all located in Costigliole d'Asti. The clusters of Barbera were hand-harvested and unveil a rather aromatic wine with a crunchy fruitiness. The wine evokes blackberry and cherry on a delicately floral background. Balanced and delectable, there is even a subtle note of minerality.

A wine that will pair perfectly with white and red grilled meats, salami and young cheeses.

Mineral & Spicy

Robert, whose family is originally from Hungary, was born in Canada and grew up on a farm. After some years working as an architect, he found his passion in winemaking, and relocated to his grandparent's country to start a winery.

Furmint is the historic grape of the region and this example shows its true strength. Alongside the lemon and lime rind nose, the palate is led by a lean minerality and exciting flavours that come from the various organically farmed vineyards across Szent György-hegy. The grapes are gently pressed, spontaneously fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks for 6 months. It has a complex character and long aging potential. 

Furmint complements herb-crusted poultry or fish. You can also try it with delicate Asian dishes like sushi or dumplings.

Complex & Silky

Château de La Chaize is among the oldest, most historic estates in Burgundy’s Beaujolais region. Cared for by the same family for nearly three and a half centuries, the estate has been passed on to new owners, the Gruy family, who are equally committed to managing the estate with the utmost care, while implementing an ambitious environmental plan.

Pale yellow colour with golden reflections, the nose opens on notes of citrus fruits and pear, with a delicate hint of acacia blossom enriching the aromatic palette. Expect a clean and balanced palate, reflecting the generosity of a sunny vintage with a pleasant volume and a delicate, mouth-watering finish.

Chill and serve with shellfish, white fish, or soft goat cheese.

The philosophy of winemaker/proprietor Max de Pourtalès is not to make overly extracted wines, but rather to make fine and elegant expressions of place. Surrounded by their team and oenologists Eric Boissenot and Emilio de Longhi, Max and Astrid de Pourtalès create perfectly balanced wines that reflect the vintage and reveal the identity of the wine of Château Doyac.

This Cru Bourgeois Supérieur is a formidable red wine that captures the essence of the Haut-Médoc terroir. Deep ruby in color and vibrant aromas of dark berries, cassis, and subtle oak. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious balance of ripe fruit flavors, fine tannins, and a touch of spice, leading to a long and elegant finish.

Perfect for special occasions, Château Doyac pairs wonderfully with red meats, game, and aged cheeses.

Working with respected winemaking partners including Trizanne Barnard and Bruce Jack, Lubanzi produces expressive wines that reflect the country’s diverse terroirs. The company also maintains a strong commitment to social impact, partnering with the Pebbles Project to support health and education initiatives for families living and working on South Africa’s wine farms.

The “Rainboat” illustration on the front label is a sign of the vibrant, energetic wine inside. Sketched by acclaimed Cape Town urban artist Chris Auret—whose work can be seen adorning bridges and buildings throughout the city—the playful artwork perfectly captures the spirit of this unique wine. 

Bursting with aromas of strawberry, pomegranate, pink apple, and candy floss, with subtle hints of dry cider, this zesty wine offers a truly unique flavour experience. The palate layers tart red fruits, lemon drop, and tea leaf alongside a playful sweet-and-sour tension more reminiscent of kombucha than traditional wine. Wildly fermented with zero added sulphur and bottled unfined and unfiltered in the style of méthode ancestrale, it's low in alcohol but high in energy. The Into the light White Blaufränkisch from Heinrich is an extraordinary orange wine from Burgenland, interpreting the red grape variety Blaufränkisch as a Blanc de Noirs — spontaneously fermented in wooden barrels and amphorae, unfiltered and without added sulphites.

Raised amidst the vineyards, Alexandre Favier is part of a long line of winemakers in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. His grandfather, Noël Sabon, hails from one of the region’s most renowned winemaking families. Alexandre began his viticultural studies at the age of fifteen in Orange, completing his exams by 2001. Just a year later, at the age of twenty, he assumed full winemaking responsibilities at Domaine Chante Cigale when his father’s health declined. Today, Domaine Chante Cigale stands as one of the most important family estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Extrait consists of 50% Roussanne and 50% Grenache Blanc. The Roussanne for Extrait comes from a very specific plot and the vines are over 40 years old. For a wine this unctuous and textured, the palate shows remarkable balance and freshness. Aromas of apricot, peach and citrus are complemented by some perfumed florals and well integrated, savoury oak. The finish is incredibly long and fresh.

The Out of the Dark Blaufränkisch from Heinrich is an unconventional, biodynamic red shaped by a lighter flavour profile than expected from Blaufränkisch. It shows juicy red fruit layered with warm spice and mineral notes, supported by refined tannins and crisp acidity. 

Try this wine with beef carpaccio or coq au vin.

The Leithaberg Chardonnay is a mineral-driven wine, shaped by limestone and slate soils and aged 17 months in large wooden casks with spontaneous fermentation. It opens with aromas of minerality, citrus, lemon balm, stone fruit, and subtle earthy herbal notes. The palate is taut and structured, with firm acidity, a creamy texture, and a lightly phenolic grip, leading to a saline, herbaceous finish. Focused and restrained, it showcases elegance, precision, and a clear expression of its terroir.

The Weisze Freyheit is a distinctive blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc from Lake Neusiedl, showcasing a bold, modern skin-contact style with notable depth and structure. It opens with complex aromas of dried herbs, roasted nuts, brioche, and subtle mineral tones, layered with hints of orchard fruit and citrus blossom. On the palate, it is taut with a firm, slightly bitter grip, balanced by a juicy core and a lingering herbal, nutty finish. Overall, it is an uncompromising, intellectually engaging wine with a strong sense of character and precision.

The Blaufränkisch from Heinrich is an elegant, biodynamic red shaped by the contrasting chalky and sandy terroirs of Lake Neusiedl. It shows juicy berry fruit layered with floral, herbal, and mineral notes, supported by refined tannins and lively acidity. Matured in neutral oak, it’s a balanced, versatile wine with depth, ideal for pairing with hearty, rustic dishes.

Cheerfully juicy. This amber-coloured potion spreads its aromas around in a manner that’s equally expressive and unobtrusive… This wine can indeed call itself ‘orange’, though far more delicate and tender than the buzzword ‘orange’ might suggest.

The Heinrich Naked Orange is an approachable wine that pairs well with Salmon tartare with pickled raspberries, couscous salad with feta and cranberry, toasted sourdough bread with avocado.
