Bianka and Daniel took over the Weingut Schmitt in 2012 as the fourth generation to lead the winery. They are based in Wonnegau in the south Rheinhessen, centered in Flörsheim-Dalsheim. All of the vineyards are in Flörsheim-Dalsheim and neighbour villages Monsheim and Kriegsheim. Bianka and Daniel have been working their 16 hectares biodynamically for over a decade and are one of only 80 producers in Germany to be Demeter certified.
Erdreich from Bianka and Daniel Schmitt showcases an enchanting balance of 50% Scheurebe and 50% Muskateller, as the wine reveals an aromatic bouquet bursting with vibrant notes of elderflower, peach, and litchi, accented by subtle hints of melon and rose. With a dry yet complex palate, it unfolds a delightful floral tapestry that lingers beautifully in the finish, underscoring the craftsmanship behind its 1.5-week skin maceration and careful aging in 1200-liter oak barrels. This charming wine captivates the senses, embodying the essence of its Frauenberg origins.
