This is a fine not so Petit Chablis - with bang on Chablis character, balance and depth for the money. The nose captures generous and complex flint, parmesan, dried apple and lemon. It is medium weight, with sharp but not austere acidity. The length is excellent. Tasted Nov 2020

Christophe Patrice is located in Beines and the Petit Chablis vines he uses for this chardonnay are impressive indeed. While one would never want to speak in terms of saying a wine elevates from one appellation to another it is worth noting that the concentration and the stature here is so very Chablis. Outstanding in every way, exactly as proposed and better than what expectation dictates. Creates one of those categories that redefines what an appellation is and surely can be. Drink 2020-2024. Tasted November 2020.
