Domaine André Aubert, has been formed over decades and generations by one very passionate wine family and today comprises of more than 280 hectares spread from north to south of the prestigious Southern Rhone Valley on the appellations Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône villages, Visan, and Grignan-les-Adhémar.

This is a perfectly balanced blend of Grenache and Syrah from the southern Rhône appellation of Visan which is the realm of the Aleppo pine, of lavender and truffles – and of course, the vine. Owing to the Mediterranean climate, expect lush fruit aromas of blackberries and cherries, with hints of freshly crushed peppercorns. It's full-bodied, rich and juicy with a smooth finish.

A great pairing with burgers or sausages on the grill, stuffed red peppers, or a classic meat lovers pizza.

About the Winery

Domaine Andre Aubert

At the very heart of the Rhône Valley, at the northerly tip of the Southern Rhône, lie the vineyards of Grignan-Les-Adhémar. The chances are you haven’t heard the name before, few people have, but the wines are worth seeking out. It’s not a new wine region – vines have been planted here since around 500BC but it is a new name (formerly known as Côteaux-du-Tricastin). Domaine André Aubert, has been formed over decades and today comprises of more than 280 hectares spread from north to south of the prestigious Southern Rhone Valley on the appellations Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône villages, Visan, and Grignan-les-Adhémar.

Wine Align

91 points (2022) - Michael Godel

Massive fruit in every respect from an $18 Rhône red that is thankfully neither hot nor boozy. Just the swells and deep well of berries, sweet and perfumed, ripe to the hilt and a Villages example so glaring you might want to don shades to dim the brightness of its illuminating light. Mon dieu how is this much fruit possible at this price? Mid-palate too with just enough saline-mineral chalkiness, liquid and fluid. Some might feel there is a sweetness to this wine but it’s natural and in harmony with the sneaky structure involved. Impressive and outstanding value. Drink 2023-2025. Tasted April 2023.

There is a certain engaging, youthful sweetness from top to bottom here but it is not excessively jammy or soupy thanks to decent acidity. The nose shows typical southern Rhone plum, pepper and florals with a touch of garrigue. It is medium-full bodied with fine acidity, some warmth and dusty tannin. Very good length. Tasted April 2023
