Wife and husband winemaking team, Andrea and Chris Mullineux, set out with a shared vision to create authentic Swartland wines that reflect the distinct terroir of the region while embracing reasoned, sustainable farming practices and modern minimalist winemaking. The Old Vines White is sourced from Mullineux’s oldest sustainably farmed white wine vineyards, planted in the ancient decomposed granite soils of the Paardeberg. These exceptional vines, reaching up to 72 years of age, have adapted over decades to the region’s demanding terroir, producing wines of remarkable depth and character.
The wine opens with expressive aromas of fresh stone fruit and gently poached pear, leading into a nuanced palate layered with yellow grapefruit and ripe nectarine. Bright acidity brings freshness and precision, while subtle notes of ginger and citrus carry through to an elegant, lingering finish.
