This perfumed Chenin, with a vibrant minerality, is from a very special old vineyard (Eikelaan) planted in the decomposed Granite soils high up on the slopes of the Paardeberg. Upfront aromas of yellow citrus blossom, summer fynbos and hints of green tea. This leads to a gorgeous pithy/minerality driven mid-palate and the ever-present vibrancy that this Single Terroir Chenin Blancs are known for. As to be expected from its reflective Granitic soils, this wine will boast a slow and extended linear progression as it ages and will provide the most drinking pleasure if decanted.
From a Paardeberg vineyard. Matured for 10 months in older 225-litre barrels. Citrus, peach, and a hint of ginger and spice on the nose. The palate is rich and flavourful with dense fruit, tangy acidity and a savoury finish. Generous and less vertical than some vintages.
