Floral & Citrusy

Fresne-Ducret is rich in family history and has been rooted in the premier cru village of Villedommange since the mid 1800s. Originally growing grapes for the big champagne houses, it wasn’t until the end of the second world war that the family decided to make their own wine. The tradition carries on today with Pierre Fresne and his wife Daniella (an Oakville ex-pat). Their philosophy is to produce wines that best exemplify the terroir of Villedommange, and they do this with sustainability in mind.

An immersion into the fascinating field of alchemy. Using the grand principles of blending, Champagne Fresne Ducret separated, extracted, then combined the best of its three grape varieties to yield a cuvée remarkable for its generosity.

A voyage into the heart of our terroir and its pinots, the red wine vinification brings to this rosé by blending aromas of strawberry and raspberry. Deep pink colour, with copper nuances. A nice foam when poured stabilizes into a lovely string of pearls. The nose is dominated by red fruits—raspberry, redcurrant, pomegranate—punctuated with citrus notes. In the mouth, a moreishness characterized by Biscuits Roses and violet.

Serve with seared duck breast, berry tarts, or raspberries with sabayon.
