1 bottle x Tornatore Valdemone Spumante Brut. This sparkling wine is made form Nerello Mascalese grapes, with the Charmat method. Fine and elegant on the nose with delicate and continuous bubbles. Savoury, dry and fragrant on the palate with a surprisingly drinkable finish.

1 bottle x Tornatore Pietrarizzo Etna Bianco 2022. The wine has enticing floral scents of spring blossoms and Spanish broom that mingle with summer orchard fruit and wet stone. The tangy, savoury palate boasts finesse and mineral tension, delivering juicy Meyer lemon, creamy pear, yellow apple and saline before a white pepper finish. Fresh acidity brightens the rich flavours. This is perfect with young and medium-aged cheeses, poultry and fish.

1 bottle x Tornatore Zottorinotto Etna Bianco 2021. The Zottorinotto contrada is situated in the Northen slopes of mount Etna. The grape variety used is one hundred percent Carricante. Straw yellow with intense gold reflections. Strong hints of vanilla, honey, ginestra flower and mature yellow peach. Elegance and persistence on the palate are perfectly completed by the extraordinary complexity and sapidity

1 bottle x Tornatore Trimarchisa Etna Rosso 2018. A blend of predominantly Nerello Mascalese and a small percentage of Nerello Cappuccio, this fragrant red opens with enticing scents of wild red berry, underbrush, blue flowers, Mediterranean scrub and a whiff of warm spices. The taut, polished palate boasts elegance and tension, delivering raspberry compote, strawberry, star anise and blood orange before a mineral, almost salty finish. Fine-grained tannins and bright acidity provide finesse and support.

1 bottle x Tornatore Riserva Etna Rosso DOC 2017. The Riserva comes from the oldest vineyards of the estate, known locally as the 'relics.' Small terraces along the slopes of Mount Etna, supported by ancient walls, were meticulously restored by Tornatore, and are the home to these treasured old vines. This wine represents the perfect synthesis of the magnetism of Etna - where with hard work and patience, great things happen.

1 bottle x Tornatore Calderara Etna Rosso DOC 2019. Connoisseurs of Etna wines know Contrada Calderara as one of the top cru, with a unique type of soil – a mixture of black pumice and basalt, the result of thousands of years of lava flows and volcanic deposits. It is also covered with large stones that add to its heat-retaining capability and give it its name  – Calderara, or caldron. All that retained heat is released during cool nights, allowing the grapes to capture the minerality of the soils, resulting in transparent and vibrant wines. One of these is the Tornatore Etna Rosso Calderara 2019 – a pristine expression of nerello mascalese from the northern part of Etna. It has a perfumed aroma, with notes of grapefruit, brambleberries, savory spices, wild herbs and flowers. It’s also aromatic, harmonious, complex and poised.

About the Winery

Azienda Agricola Tornatore

Out of a Sicilian family heritage that traces back to the 17th century, the Tornatore’s Mount Etna wine ventures began in 1865. Today the family’s operations are headed by Giuseppe Tornatore, a businessman whose expertise led to the acquisition of some of the region’s finest north-facing vineyards in the early 2000’s. That heritage and the Tornatore’s profound respect and understanding of the land is showcased in wines that capture the essence of Etna, deftly balancing concentrated flavors, complexity, freshness and refinement.

The company lies in the northern side of Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. The soils have volcanic origin and were created through the disintegration of lava, ash and stones from previous volcanic eruptions. The climate on the northern side of the Etna is characterized by mild temperatures, and more rain fall reflecting the influence of the Volcano. The combination of soil, climate and the skill of the winemakers, have made the northern slope of Etna an ideal area for the production of high-quality wines. “Our vineyards and our winery are only a few kilometers from our family home. Our entire family is rooted there. We have the greatest respect for this region, and we believe we have a responsibility to be stewards of Etna and to reflect its distinct character in our wines.” - Giuseppe Tornatore
