Lismore Estate Vineyards, nestled in the foothills of the dramatic mountain range in South Africa, is where Californian-born owner and winemaker Samantha O'Keefe has discovered both paradise and the ideal terroir. With vines planted at 300 meters and a distinctive cool-climate environment shaped by extreme temperature shifts, Lismore crafts rich, complex, and meticulously handcrafted wines that embody a true sense of place. As the pioneer of the "Greyton" Wine of Origin designation, Lismore is celebrated for its exceptional terroir and the unique story told in every bottle.

This expressive Viognier offers an inviting perfume of honeysuckle and orange blossom, leading into a richly textured palate layered with apricot, kiwi, and pineapple. Barrel fermentation and ageing, along with extended lees contact, lend depth, weight, and a silky mouthfeel, beautifully complementing the variety’s naturally aromatic and generous profile. A firm backbone of acidity brings balance and precision, allowing the intense fruit to integrate seamlessly and promising additional complexity over the next three to five years.

96 Points - Christian Eedes

Grapes from Bot River, Elgin and Villiersdorp, production of this wine is an impressive 25,000 bottles. Peach, orange, a hint of floral perfume, fynbos, a brush of vanilla, and some flinty reduction on the nose. The palate, meanwhile, is pure and vibrant with a dry finish – it has a tension about it and that’s not something you say about wines from this variety.
