Matías Riccitelli was born in Cafayete, Salta. He identifies as a traveler and a tireless dreamer. After countless harvests throughout the world, he decided to combine everything he has learned and dedicate himself to exploring the excellent terroirs of Mendoza and the teachings of his mentor, and father, Jorge Riccitelli.
Made with grapes from old, ungrafted vines planted in Las Compuertas in 1930, on clay/loam soils. Matías keeps 25% of the grapes with whole cluster, while the rest is destemmed. Fermentation happens in small concrete vats, with very gentle punch downs to obtain a long and slow extraction. The wine ages in French foûdres for 16 months.
This wine is balanced with freshness, acidity and fruity notes. Its vinification and ageing give it an elegant structure. On the nose, it is all about red fruits such as cherry, raspberry and strawberries, complemented by earthy and mineral nuances. On the palate, it delivers a refreshing acidity, fine tannins and a silky texture.
