Falstaff
89 Points - Ulrich Sautter
Ripe black cherries and red cherries powerful aromas, some oak, dried thyme and rosemary. Full-bodied and fresh on the palate, ripe, juicy cherries with a vivid acidity, emphatically dry, with intense ripe tannins.

About the Winery
Tomich Woodside Vineyard
The Tomich family hails from the Adriatic Coast in Croatia where winemaking is a way of life. Jack Tomich Senior arrived in Australia in 1903 bringing with him all of the grape growing and winemaking skills of his forefathers. The family had always made their own wine for home use and grew sultanas and wine grapes after moving to the new irrigation settlement of Mildura in 1936. Jack’s son Ivan showed a real passion for wine, and by 1946 was producing wine and selling it to local farmers. 3 generations of grape growers and winemakers later, the Tomich family now owns one of the best sites in the Adelaide Hills and had kept its ancestral way of softly farming the land and is pushing for sustainable growing practices.Press Reviews
Wine Pilot
93 Points - Ken Gargett
A single vineyard Pinot Noir from the highly respected Woodside sub-region of the Adelaide Hills. The colour is a gentle crimson but that belies the life and focus in this wine. The nose offers some appealing vegetation notes, spices, dry herbs and a briary note that one usually encounters with wines which have a percentage of whole bunch fermentation. There are dark fruit notes, hints of cassis and tobacco leaves, as well as lovely red fruit characters. This is fresh and energetic on the palate, with good acidity supporting the length. A degree of tension here is adding to the overall impression of a wine of brightness, finesse and verve. Silky tannins to be found on the lengthy, lingering finish. This will drink very well over the next 4 to 5 years. A delicious Pinot.

Platters
Mostly cab in 19, & it shows in sturdy tannins surrounding ripe, jammy black fruit. Still a perfectly pleasant pizza/pasta wine. Platters 2021.

Aromas of a complex wine with a stony mineral led quality followed by scents of dark cherry and baked plum then sweetness of barrel and a fine smoky wood quality. Dark rose and clove, plum and vanilla, there’s a fine silica and saline quality to the sense of place this wine carries as well. On the palate - taut and youthful, salivating and texture, complex and fine. A delicious wine with velvet textured tannin, plenty of acidity and a core flavours of red berries, plum then wood spices and sense of place with a earthy mineral quality. Lengthy finish with charm and cmplexity. Best drinking from 2023 through 2033.
