Lighthall Vineyards is a small, proud, low volume and high quality winery located in enchanting Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. A cooler vintage brings freshness to one of the county’s best varieties. Strawberry, red currant, candied cherry, and a savoury garrigue all burst from the glass. Tones of sumac, cedar, bittersweet chocolate and cinnamon bark bring a discerning finish to this elegant grape. The classic pairing of seared duck breast and mushroom risotto are a must-have.

Classically, a pan seared or confit duck breast with black pepper and wild mushroom risotto is delightful. We also recommend blue cheeses, gruyere, taleggio, jollof with smoked mackerel, grilled pork butt chop with a sumac compote, black truffles, miso chicken, grilled salmon, or tuna sashimi.

Mineral & Zesty

This, Lighthall's first edition of concrete aged Chardonnay, paints the clearest image yet of county terroir. Clear and authentic, the nose is brimming with honeyed apple, lemon yogurt, salted oyster shell, and beeswax. The flavours continue in the palate, but the star of the show is the opulent, luscious, yet elegant mouthfeel that lingers with finesse.

A brilliant seafood wine, this is a knockout with oysters, halibut, butter-poached cod,
lobster, crab, and scallops. Lemon chicken, rabbit, and quail are good meat options, while grilled asparagus, hummus, creamy orzo, and tofu souvlaki make delightful vegetarian picks. Rich, creamy, and mild cheeses are well balanced by the bright acidity and round texture.

The Cortonesi family has been a cornerstone of the Montalcino region for decades. Established in the 1970s, their estate spans 138 acres in one of the area's most storied regions, with 19 acres dedicated to producing world-class Brunello. The family began commercially selling their wine in 1985, and today, third-generation winemaker Tommaso Cortonesi continues the tradition. Tommaso combines his long-standing family traditions with modern technologies to craft some of the finest expressions of Tuscan Sangiovese. 

This is a beautifully expressive Brunello from an outstanding vintage, now confidently hitting its stride. The nose is vibrant and layered, with classic aromas of spiced licorice and red cherry, complemented by subtle notes of fresh rosemary, cedar, and dried flowers. On the palate, it offers full weight and a smooth, seamless texture, with fine-grained tannins woven through a warm, elegant core of dried fruit. Rich and juicy, it showcases the signature succulence and length of Montalcino, with the structure and finesse to continue evolving gracefully for years to come.

Pair Brunello with bold, flavourful dishes such as oxtail, a nicely cooked steak, rich stews, or game served with mushroom-based sauces. 

Earthy & Silky

The Baud estate dates back to 1742, today the 9th generation manages the winery. Siblings Clementine and Bastien, both under 30, are making some of the best value wines in the area. Jura is that narrow valley in the remote hills between Burgundy and Switzerland, which millions of years ago was covered by an Ocean and today still bares many of the fossils from that time. If you kick a stone in a Jura vineyard, it will probably be a fossil.

Trousseau is by far the rarest grape variety in the Jura, planted in less than 8% of the total Jura vineyard, it has a biological relationship with the white grape Savagnin, being originally from this magical region. The vineyards are planted on rich red marl and gravel soils, along the Cotes du Jura appellation. On the nose, it has aromas of red fruits and leather, with a hint of sub-bois. Tannins are soft and silky, and the palate is very well-balanced.

Enjoy it on its own, or pair it with red meats such as game and venison.
