In 2005 three fellows born & raised among the vineyards of the Langhe - Gianmatteo 'Jimmy' Raineri, Fabrizio Giraudo, and Luciano Racca - started Raineri Winery. This was meant to be a small project focused on the production of Dolcetto from the famous Dogliani area, however, the friend's passion and respect for wine and its cultural tradition in the region pushed them to expand shortly after inception. Along with Dolcetto, they craft Barbera, Nebbiolo and even Barolo from vineyards located in Monforte d’Alba. With the help of their families, and generous advice from wise producers, they were able to fulfill their dream of making classic wines of Piedmont.
The wines are shaped under a guiding, shared philosophy. Manual work for absolute care of each grapevine; wine let to age in barrels made with only the best oak; and daily barrel sampling to learn and engage in the wine's evolution.
Opening up with aromas of small dark berries and plums complimented by lingering scents of cracked black pepper and notes of heather. The mouthfeel offers medium weight along with soft tannins that underscore the bright, fruity flavours. Lingering notes of clove and fennel extend into the pleasing finish.
