Balanced & Elegant

Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer in Burgundy. He grew up in a family dedicated entirely to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's.

Founded in 2009, Maison Roche de Bellene offers a complete range of wines, with an emphasis on individual terroirs from vieilles vignes (old vines - 40 years or older) that are farmed responsibly. All of the growers that Nicolas Potel works with are either organic certified or farming according to the principles of lutte raisonée (“sustainable viticulture”). This enables Potel to consistently produce the expressive, terroir-driven style that is his vision.

The .75 ha parcel of land within Nuit-Saint-Georges which provides the fruit for this bottling has vines ranging in ages between 40-54 years, and grow upon beds of limestone clay rich soils.

Aromatically there are notes of crushed rose petals and violets, as well as tart red fruit and fine vanilla. The palate is refreshing with well balanced tannins, and the finish is surprisingly dry compared to the delicacies on the nose.

This product is part of the LCBO December Classics Catalogue. It will take approximately 10-14 business days to be delivered.

Offers black cherry, blackberry, iron and earth flavors. Firm, dense tannins provide support. The acidity is lively and drives the long finish. Should come together in a year or two. Best from 2021 through 2032.
