The Schild Family have been grape growers in the Barossa Valley since 1952. Growing the estate from one vineyard to over 134ha across 11 precious sites, their generational wisdom and knowledge of the land allows for premium fruit to flourish each vintage. Their Estate Wine label was created as a small side project and quickly grew in reputation and is now loved worldwide.
Sourced from the three Schild Estate vineyards, this wine opens with aromas of blackberry, hawthorn, and prune plum layered with hints of clove, black olive, and subtle spice over a gravelly undertone. The palate is juicy and lifted by fresh acidity, highlighting the dark berry fruit above gentle oak and herbal nuances. Cassis and blackcurrant notes emerge against firm yet well-integrated tannins, leading to a structured, balanced finish.
Try with slow cooked game meats, or keep things traditional with grilled beef tenderloin seared in blue cheese butter.
