Founded in 1974 by Valentino Migliorini, a Michelin-starred restaurateur with a visionary approach to winemaking, Rocche dei Manzoni quickly became a pioneer in the Langhe. Valentino introduced groundbreaking innovations such as the first Nebbiolo-Barbera blend (Bricco Manzoni), the use of small oak barrels, and traditional method sparkling wines—well ahead of his time. Today, under the direction of his son Rodolfo, the estate continues its legacy of experimentation and precision, producing acclaimed Barolo, innovative blends, and sparkling wines that showcase both tradition and forward-thinking spirit.
Planted in clay-rich, grey-blue marl soils, this south/southeast-facing vineyard produces a Barolo with remarkable structure, depth, and colour intensity, earning its classification as a “10-year” reserve. The vineyard reflects both the exceptional quality of its terroir and its rich history—once owned by the Curia, it's still marked by a charming 16th-century church perched atop the ridge, adding to the beauty and character of the surrounding landscape.
A powerful and expressive Barolo, this wine opens with an intense bouquet of dried fruit, earthy undergrowth, humus, and subtle toasted notes. The palate is rich and concentrated, with impressive depth, firm yet refined tannins, and a remarkable sense of energy. A mineral-driven finish extends with extraordinary length, revealing a wine that is simultaneously smooth, elegant, and immensely complex. A majestic expression of a great vintage with exceptional longevity.
