Founded in 1974 by Valentino Migliorini, a Michelin-starred restaurateur with a visionary approach to winemaking, Rocche dei Manzoni quickly became a pioneer in the Langhe. Valentino introduced groundbreaking innovations such as the first Nebbiolo-Barbera blend (Bricco Manzoni), the use of small oak barrels, and traditional method sparkling wines—well ahead of his time. Today, under the direction of his son Rodolfo, the estate continues its legacy of experimentation and precision, producing acclaimed Barolo, innovative blends, and sparkling wines that showcase both tradition and forward-thinking spirit.

Located in the Perno hamlet of Monforte d’Alba, the six-hectare “Chapel of St. Stephen” vineyard benefits from ideal southern exposures and complex soils of compact grey marl, sandstone, and reddish-yellow sands. This site produces wines of remarkable aromatic intensity and concentration.

Elegant and beautifully composed, this Barolo opens with layered aromas of red fruit, dried flowers, sweet spice, and subtle balsamic herbs, all framed by a gentle touch of vanilla. The palate is balanced and refined, with velvety tannins, fresh acidity, and savoury depth working seamlessly together. Notes of dried herbs and delicate spice linger through the long, polished finish. A Barolo that combines finesse and structure with impressive drinkability.

96 Points

Aromas of dried orange peel and earth with berries are very intense. Full body, chewy and very linear. Powerful finish. Lots of energy here. Better in 2020.
