Founded in 1974 by Valentino Migliorini, a Michelin-starred restaurateur with a visionary approach to winemaking, Rocche dei Manzoni quickly became a pioneer in the Langhe. Valentino introduced groundbreaking innovations such as the first Nebbiolo-Barbera blend (Bricco Manzoni), the use of small oak barrels, and traditional method sparkling wines—well ahead of his time. Today, under the direction of his son Rodolfo, the estate continues its legacy of experimentation and precision, producing acclaimed Barolo, innovative blends, and sparkling wines that showcase both tradition and forward-thinking spirit.

The Barolo Perno “lieu-dit” Cappella di S. Stefano is a graceful and approachable expression of Barolo, shaped by a small proportion of sand within the Arenarie di Diano soils. The result is a wine of notable complexity and balance, offering a long, highly refined sip.

On the nose, the 2015 reveals delicate aromas of dried roses and subtle eau de cologne, followed by nuances of hazelnut, candied citrus, and strawberry jelly. The palate confirms the wine’s elegance and versatility, with fine, well-integrated tannins and a harmonious overall structure. The finish is exceptionally long and persistent, echoing its aromatic precision and finesse.

Wild aromas of rose petals with crushed berries that follow through to a full body, with soft and juicy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Delicious already, but will age wonderfully.
