Husband and wife winemaker team, Chris and Andrea Mullineux, set out with a shared vision to create authentic Swartland wines that reflect the distinct terroir of the region while embracing reasoned, sustainable farming practices and modern minimalist winemaking. Their commitment to quality and their deep respect for the environment and their employees have earned them acclaim both nationally and internationally, and has led to Mullineux being awarded South African Winery of the Year an unprecedented five times by the highly respected Platter’s Guide.
This single-vineyard site lies on the rolling hills just outside Malmesbury. Planted to bush vine Chenin Blanc in deep, iron-rich Koffieklip soils, the vineyard consistently ripens earlier than surrounding sites, yielding fruit of notable concentration and character.
A deeply expressive Chenin Blanc shaped by clay-rich soils that promote concentration while preserving freshness, this wine offers striking aromatic intensity and natural balance. The nose reveals layers of yellow orchard fruit, fresh orange peel, and a subtle flinty edge. On the palate, it is richly textured yet precise, with a sense of depth carried by vibrant acidity and a gentle saline note on the finish. Focused and structured, it shows remarkable ageing potential, promising to evolve gracefully over the next two decades.
