Earthy & Spicy

Chief winemaker Simon Black and the award-winning winemaking team at Montalto manage the production of the three ranges of incredible wines. Their focus is to create wines of exemplary quality and character, utilizing winemaking techniques that complement the unique qualities derived from the Mornington Peninsula vineyards, in a style that reflects each vineyard site.

A highly aromatic wine displaying immense complexity. Blackberry and kirsch notes combine with graphite, cherry, and earthy undertones. There’s a whole-bunch floral and fragrant perfume hovering together with some subtle dried herbs, black olive and root vegetables. The palate is structured but shows restraint and elegance as the saturating fruits dissolve into the savoury finish.

A perfect pairing for roasted duck with cherries or figs, grilled quail or pulled pork with a hint of spice. Seared salmon or tuna with a soy glaze would also be delicious.

This product is part of the LCBO March Classics Catalogue. It will take approximately 3-4 weeks to be delivered from its release date.

This offers a rich array of ripe red and dark-cherry aromas with violets, baking spices and earthy nuances. The palate has great definition and detail, in tannin terms, with plenty of dark-cherry flavor. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

Of the single vineyard pinots, this has the most structure and fruit weight with everything in check. A whorl of sweet black cherries doused in pepper and baking spices with some tart pomegranate freshness enlivens the full-bodied palate. Although there's a density to the ripe tannins, they have been neatly absorbed into the fabric of the wine.
