Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer and pioneer in the Burgundy winemaking scene. He grew up in a family dedicated to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's. The Maison Roche de Bellene offers a complete range of carefully cultivated and versatile wines, often made from old vines. All of the Maison wines are made with respect to sustainable and natural farming practices, with as little intervention as necessary to showcase their individual terroirs.

Made from old vines in a great vintage, this wine showcases the pure fruit and floral aromas that make Volnay wines so polished and sought-after. A sweet black cherry scent sets the stage, followed by delicate hints of rose and purple flower petals leading into rich layers of juicy raspberries and wild strawberries. It has a medium weight on the palate with a lightly smoky tannic character, adding a refreshing savoury note to balance the ripe fruit. Thanks to the depth and structure from the old vines, this wine is already developing beautifully and has the potential to keep evolving in the bottle.

Match this mature red with game meats such as herb-grilled quail or roasted pheasant. This fare will provide robust yet refined flavours that pairs well with the depth and complexity of aged Burgundy.

A sweet cherry aroma sets the scene for this fruity, firmly structured wine. The juicy red-berry fruit is balanced by a smoky tannic character. This will be a pleasure to drink in a year, and it can also age longer
