Rich & Luxurious

Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer in Burgundy. He grew up in a family dedicated entirely to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's.

Founded in 2009, Maison Roche de Bellene offers a complete range of wines, with an emphasis on individual terroirs from vieilles vignes (old vines - 40 years or older) that are farmed responsibly. All of the growers that Nicolas Potel works with are either organic certified or farming according to the principles of lutte raisonée (“sustainable viticulture”). This enables Potel to consistently produce the expressive, terroir-driven style that is his vision.

This Chassagne-Montrachet hails from vines averaging 55 years in age and was vinified in large, 500L barrels then aged for 13 months in 20% new wood. This wine shows great concentration, grip and complexity. The nose bursts with aromas of peach, pear, toasted nuts and pastry cream. Medium to full-bodied, textural and open-knit, this is a ripe and round Chassagne that is ready to drink now.

This product is part of the LCBO Vintages program. It may take approximately 10-14 business days to be delivered.

Potel's Roche de Bellene's 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet is both rich and biting. Offering a voluptuous texture cut by fresh acidity and a significant mineral texture. It bumps and jives and offers great textural appeal. Rounded but racy with an oak treatment that co-mingles with the juicy abundance of fruit that includes sour lemon and grapefruit on the palate. Excellent length.
