Earthy & Complex

Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer in Burgundy. He grew up in a family dedicated entirely to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's.

Volnay is famous for its silky, elegant wines with finesse, delicacy and an almost ethereal nose. However, the wines have a depth and structure that can allow them to age for decades. The vineyard of Les Mitan is located in the middle of the hillside between Volnay and the main road "D974" Beaune - Châlon-sur-Saône, hence its name, in Old French "Mitan" meaning "middle". This wine has a cohesive and attractive nose with black cherries and mulberry aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with rustic tannins.

Pair this delicious and delicate wine with roast beef, veal, game birds, or rabbit. Soft cheeses such as camembert and brie also pair beautifully.

This product is part of the LCBO April Classics Catalogue. It will take approximately 3-4 weeks to be delivered from its release date.

From one of the premier crus on the lower slope below the village, this wine already shows some of the ripe opulence associated with a Volnay. However, it still maintains plenty of tannic structure to support all the fresh fruit flavors. Enjoy from 2022.
