Delivery timeline: We require one full case of each wine in order to build and fulfill four mixed cases. This process usually takes about 10-15 business days but may vary.
Robert, whose family is originally from Hungary, was born in Canada and grew up on a farm. After some years working as an architect, he found his passion in winemaking, and relocated to his grandparent's home country to start a winery.
This mixed case includes 3 bottles of each wine.
3 bottles x Gilvesy George Cuvée 2022. This blend of Olaszrizling, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc is light and fresh. On the nose, it's all about hints of mint, lemon and fresh cucumber, while on the palate it's zesty, with notes of green apple and citrus fruit.
It's delicious when paired with summer meals: fresh salads dressed with dried fruits such as cranberries and walnuts, grilled fish with potatoes and zesty ceviches.
3 bottles x Gilvesy Mogyorós Sauvignon Blanc 2018. The Sauvignon Blanc for this wine comes from the Mogyorós vineyard. With classic Sauvignon Blanc aromas of lemon, lime, tropical white fruit and a hint of spice. You can even denote some soft earthy tones. The wine is rich and creamy in texture, multilayered with nice acid and a salty, mineral finish.
This bold Sauvignon Blanc would be a perfect pairing for seafood dishes.
3 bottles x PIXU Olaszrizling 2022. Gilvesy Pixu is a new direction in the life of the winery, but it is also part of a very organic process. In recent years, natural wines have gained more and more ground in the wine world, and Robert finds this style very exciting, yet divisive: he tasted a lot, experimented, read on the subject. He wanted to experiment in this direction since 2019, but it was important that these wines also find their place in the clean, familiar and polished world of the Gilvesy Estate. By now, the concept has matured and the experience gained has been embodied in the PIXU series.
This year, Furmint, Rhine Riesling and Italian Riesling will be launched. "Each batch is characterized by gentle processing, fermentation with low and zero sulfur, unfiltered, unclear batches. Exciting wines with full texture and showing the fruitiness of the original must. These are the faces of Gilvesy Estate and St. George's Hill!"
3 bottles x Váradi Vineyard Furmint 2021. Furmint is the historic grape of the region and this example shows its true strength. Alongside the white-fleshed fruit, the palate is also led by the intense spiciness and exciting flavours that come from the stony soil of the Váradi vineyard, and the Kádár barrels that were used for ageing it in. It has a complex character and long aging potential. A mineral wine with rich flavours and fresh acidity.
Furmint complements herb-crusted poultry or fish. You can also try it with delicate Asian dishes like sushi or dumplings.
