Garage Wine Co was literally started in a garage in 2001, by Etobicoke expat Derek Mossman and his wife Pilar Miranda. Since then, the dynamic duo have chosen to revive old vineyards in marginalized Chilean communities. They work mostly in the regions of Maule and Itata where they make highly coveted wines.
Phoenix is sourced from a network of families who are integral to the Garage team. Harvesting has evolved into a collaborative effort, with small quantities of grapes picked across different sites in a convoy-like fashion. This approach ensures that more families benefit from fair compensation for their grapes while fostering a sense of camaraderie during production. It also plays a crucial role in encouraging the younger generation to remain connected to the land and continue the tradition of farming.
An engaging white wine made mostly from red varietals País and a splash of Carignan. Bright aromas of white peach and rose hips settle between tangy citrus notes of tangerine and tart cranberries on the nose. The palate is vibrant and pleasantly floral, accentuated by an understated streak of salinity and bitter almond. Focused acidity lends incredible freshness and lift, highlighting the wine's complexity on the elegant finish.
