Founded in the 18th century, Château du Moulin Rouge enjoys an exceptional location, with 27 hectares of sun-drenched, gravelly slopes shaped by the nearby Gironde estuary. For generations, this family-run estate has nurtured its vines with passion and expertise, blending traditional know-how with modern techniques to preserve its legacy and ensure the highest quality in every harvest. Today, Lucie Secret and Geoffrey Ribeiro, representing the 13th generation, continue this heritage, carefully tending the vineyards and hand-harvesting the grapes, all while maintaining a steadfast commitment to quality and environmental stewardship.

Pouring a deep, captivating ruby into the glass, this wine reveals an increasingly enticing bouquet of juicy blackcurrants and dark-fleshed berries, layered over soft earthy-mineral nuances and a subtle streak of fragrant spearmint and spice. On the palate, it unfolds with elegance and precise structure, gradually revealing enduring layers of cassis and bittersweet chocolate that linger through a long, satisfying finish.

Excellent with beef, venison, and other roasted meats.

91 Points - Andy Howard, MW

A fine, classically styled wine which is structured and shows more of a traditional, meaty, earthy character than some of the more exuberantly fruited Cru Bourgeois. Has a touch of the Graves about it, with the gravelly character in evidence. Concentrated, dark fruit, leafy cherry on the nose and palate. Needs a little more time to soften but there is plenty of potential for further development in bottle. Drink: 2026-2033.
