Monterra was founded in 2012 on the basis of an undeniable admiration for almighty Mother Nature, and the desire to bring exceptional wines to Australian tables and beyond.
From the signature sea breezes of McLaren Vale and the Fleurieu Peninsula to the delightfully hidden gem of Kuitpo Forest and the cool charms of the Adelaide Hills – Monterra produce wines that speak wondrously of these unique regions. Working closely in their estate vineyards and with long term growers, they grow grapes that rejoice in the natural conditions of their environs to be the finest example of every vintage.
Classic blackcurrant cassis along with sweet baking spices layered overtop notes of ripe cherries and soft hints of vanilla on the nose and palate. Showing solid weight on the palate and silky tannins with integrated complex flavours lingering into the finish.
Cab is king along side red meat so try with braised beef short ribs or a juicy tenderloin steak.
Monterra is part of a family-farmed winery who has been growing grapes since 1924. Sustainable farming practices are central to the family’s firmly held belief that they are responsible for tending the earth using environmentally sensitive farming techniques.
