Reynvaan is a small family winery (Mike, Gale, Amanda, Angela and Matt) that produces Rhône-style red and white wines from two vineyard properties in the Walla Walla Valley. They produce wines only from varietals that they love and farm themselves. From their first vintage in 2007, the wines have been remarkable with a consistent complexity, depth of flavour, finish and distinctive terroir. Almost everything they do is by hand, planting each vine in the vineyards, trellising, pruning, dropping fruit and then picking and sorting the berries at harvest.

The “In The Hills”, is co-fermented with Viognier. It has amazing aromas of fresh mint, oyster shell, briny green olives, white pepper, and worn leather. The wine is incredibly bright with its acidity but is balanced out by the fresh apricot notes. Very complex on the palate, it's zesty & meaty, with hints of huckleberry, saltiness, and a savoury, mouthwateringly long finish. The wine is an amazing representation of Syrah.

A great match with roasted lamb with apricot and walnut stuffing.

95 Points

An Hermitage-like nose of red and black currants, smoked meats, leather, and iron emerges from the 2019 Syrah In The Hills, a balanced, medium to full-bodied, concentrated Syrah that shows the pure, elegant, cooler style of the vintage nicely. It's already drinking well yet will cruise for 10-12 years in cool cellars. This is a beautiful, complex, incredibly impressive Washington State Syrah.
