Matías Riccitelli, born in the charming village of Cafayate, Salta, Argentina, where wine is deeply woven into the culture, embarked on a journey as a winemaker after training at one of the country’s most renowned wineries. A passionate traveler and dreamer, Matías honed his craft through global harvests, gaining invaluable experience along the way. In 2009, combining his extensive knowledge with the guidance of his father and mentor, Jorge Riccitelli, he founded Riccitelli Wines. Located in Las Compuertas, at 1,100 meters above sea level in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, the winery embodies Matías' vision of crafting exceptional wines from Argentina’s high-altitude terroirs.
Riccitelli & Father was born from the collaboration between Matías and his father, Jorge Riccitelli, with the shared vision of elevating Malbec from old vineyards in traditional regions, while harnessing the unique intensity that Cabernet Franc develops in their mountain soils.
This wine is a fine example of elegance and depth, offering a striking aromatic intensity. The core of dark, ripe black fruit is beautifully complemented by hints of liquorice, spice, and floral notes. On the palate, it is remarkably balanced and smooth, with firm yet graceful tannins that enhance its complexity. The wine displays a captivating personality and finishes with incredible length, leaving a lasting impression.
The bold flavours of this blend will work well with grilled & roasted cuisine - pour a glass alongside delicious roasted veggie Lasagna.
Such beautiful aromas of crushed blueberries, wet earth and mushrooms. Ripe fruit yet fresh at the same time. Full-bodied with a depth of fruit and plushness, yet it’s fresh and vivid with so much energy. Tight at the end with very integrated tannins. Persistent at the end. Give this four or five years to come around. Best after 2027.
