Radford Dale stands as one of South Africa’s premier independent wineries, renowned for crafting site-specific, natural wines that marry innovation with tradition. With two distinct wineries—one nestled in the Helderberg Mountain of Stellenbosch and the other an Organic Estate in Elgin—all Radford Dale wines are united by a single ethos: to produce the finest wines without succumbing to commercial trends or outdated practices. Rooted in a strong commitment to sustainability and a dedication to the local community, every aspect of Radford Dale's operation is imbued with a profound sense of purpose.

This wine offers a generous yet pure expression of the varietal, defined by an elegant interplay of red and purple fruit. Notes of wild strawberry, blackberry, and spiced mulberry add depth, while hints of forest undergrowth and graphite lend complexity and intrigue. Fine-grained tannins bring a sense of gravitas, anchoring the wine’s overall structure.

Try with baked spiced yellowtail with roasted fennel, tomatoes and red pepper.

95 Points - Christian Edes

Matured for 11 months in 228- and 300-litre barrels. Red cherry, strawberry, sour plum plus a herbal note on the nose while the palate is light-bodied with fresh acidity and powdery tannins, the finish overtly dry. A touch angular.

94 Points - Jamie Goode

13.5% alcohol. Organic. This is supple, fine and elegant with a stewed strawberry edge to cherry and plum fruit. There’s real texture here with a core of sweet fruit but also subtle spice-laden savouriness. Smooth, ripe and warm but with elegance and fine herbal detail.
