Husband and wife winemaker team, Chris and Andrea Mullineux, set out with a shared vision to create authentic Swartland wines that reflect the distinct terroir of the region while embracing reasoned, sustainable farming practices and modern minimalist winemaking. Their commitment to quality and their deep respect for the environment and their employees have earned them acclaim both nationally and internationally, and has led to Mullineux being awarded South African Winery of the Year an unprecedented five times by the highly respected Platter’s Guide.

The remarkable texture and structure of this Swartland wine come from low-yielding, deeply rooted old-vine Chenin Blanc, which forms its backbone. Clairette Blanche and Grenache Blanc contribute layers of salinity and freshness, while Viognier and Sémillon Gris enhance the wine’s expressive aromatics. Upfront notes of fresh grapefruit zest and powdered ginger lead to a complex palate of white pear and nectarine, culminating in a long, vibrant finish with lingering acidity.

95 Points - Christian Eedes

72.4% Chenin Blanc, 6.4% Semillon, 6.3% Clairette Blanche, 6.3% Grenache Blanc, 6.2% Viognier and 2.4% Verdelho. Matured for 11 months in older 500-litre barrels and one 2000-litre foudre.  Alc: 13.4%. The nose is still rather primary with top notes of floral perfume, hay, herbs and spice before white peach while the palate is pure and zesty with a pithy finish. That much lighter and more restrained than 2021.
