The Moreau family has been settled in the heart of Chablis since 1884. Louis Moreau, the sixth generation, studied oenology and viticulture in California and took over from his father when he returned to France in 1994. Nowadays, the domaine's vineyards extend all over the four levels of the appellation: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Premier Cru and Grand Cru.

Les Clos is the largest grand cru in Chablis and is considered the quintessential wine of Chablis for many. The site generally produces one of the most potent and longest-lived wines of the appellation and yet can be a pleasure to drink in its youth. Since 2013, this parcel grapes are vinified and aged 100% in stainless steel tank to keep its finesse and elegance.

The Domaine Louis Moreau Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru displays a very mineral bouquet, with an elegant finesse and impressive length on the palate. Pair this premier cru with roasted monkfish.

The name "Vau Ligneau" translates as 'valley of the little brook', and this premier cru vineyard sits in a side valley on the left bank of the Serein. It has a higher proportion of clay than other premier crus, something that gives the wine a rounder profile. Its North-East exposure enhances its minerality & richness drawn from its calcareous and clay subsoil.

This wine has a classic Chablis character, with an elegant minerality and a rich, full palate. Hints of mint and pineapple on the nose, and a long finish. This 1er Cru Vau Ligneau is perfect to serve with seafood, especially with oysters or lobster in butter sauce.
