Introducing the Mesta label from Peninsula Vinicultores - a collection of vibrant, expressive wines that are a pure reflection of culture, climate, and care. Shaped by the sun soaked days and cool nights of Ucles in north-central Castile and made exclusively from noble Spanish varieties from high-altitude, organic vineyards. The wines are defined by their freshness, elegance, and a steadfast commitment to sustainable viticulture that nurtures biodiversity and safeguards the land for future generations.

Rooted in Mediterranean culture and cuisine, The name “Mesta” honours a powerful medieval alliance of shepherds who governed the cañadas; historic migratory routes for sheep that remain protected to this day. In this timeless landscape, Mesta's vineyards flourish alongside ancient paths, still traversed by flocks each year. This longstanding harmony serves as a powerful symbol of enduring traditions and the natural balance between agriculture and the wild.

A juicy, unoaked red that showcases the purity and character of high-altitude Tempranillo. Bright ruby in colour, it offers expressive, well-defined aromas of red berries, rosemary, and a hint of liquorice. The palate is fresh and persistent, with a round texture and a clean, satisfyingly dry finish. Medium-bodied and highly versatile, this is an ideal food wine - perfect with tapas, grilled meats, pasta dishes and much, much more!

Bideona’s village wine series is intended to showcase the differences in character among the great, historic wine villages of Rioja Alavesa. This series also highlights a senseless regulation of the Denominación de Origen, which allows the use of a village name by the location of the winery – the building – and not the vineyards. Despite having full traceability of each vineyard parcel, Bideona cannot legally use village names on the labels. As a clever workaround, they have substituted all village names with acronyms that they have registered as brands. Thus, ‘Laguardia’ becomes L4GD4. This Tempranillo field blend comes from old vineyards planted at 1,400 feet above sea level overlooking the Ebro Valley. Ripening tends to be the earliest among Bideona’s villages and the wines are the most elegant and perfumed in the village wine series. Laguardia is also the most approachable and gastronomic wine in this series, due to its lighter, velvety tannins and juiciness on the palate.

The grapes were hand harvested in small crates and then manually sorted on a sorting table before being de-stemmed. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations were carried out in stainless-steel tanks via a mix of indigenous yeast and a house cultured yeast strain. Gentle pump-overs were done to maximize personality without high extraction of color or tannins. The wine was pressed off the skins and was sent to a mix of stainless-steel, concrete, new oak, and used oak for 12 months of aging. It was bottled with a coarse filtration and very gentle sulfur addition. No fining.

Bodegas y Viñedos Valderiz is rooted in generations of vineyard work by the Esteban family in Roa, at the heart of Ribera del Duero. After years of cultivating vines first tended by their father, Tomás, and grandfather, brothers Juan and Ricardo Esteban transformed the family’s legacy into a modern winery. Founded in 1980 when Tomás dedicated himself fully to viticulture, the estate initially sold its grapes to other producers. By 1997, recognizing the exceptional quality of their fruit, the family began crafting and marketing their own wines. With a focus on drastically reducing yields to enhance character, Valderiz has built its reputation on meticulous vineyard care and a commitment to expressing the region’s terroir.

Primarily Tempranillo with a touch of Albillo for aromatic lift, this flagship wine spends two years in French oak (half new). Plush and velvety, it layers ripe baked cherry and espresso with hints of licorice, spice, and graphite. Concentrated yet balanced by fresh acidity, the fruit is framed by fine oak nuances, leading to a polished, enduring finish.

This wine’s tannins will balance beautifully with slow-cooked, melt-in-your-mouth meats.
