Their commitment to quality and their deep respect for the environment and their employees have earned them acclaim both nationally and internationally, and has led to Mullineux being awarded South African Winery of the Year an unprecedented five times by the highly respected Platter’s Guide.

In 1984 Neil Ellis sourced grapes from vineyards not of his own and produced wine in rented cellar space. These grapes were sourced in the Stellenbosch district and meant a lot of nosing around the restrictive quota system prevalent at the time.

Today, the experience and knowledge of the past are applied to modern techniques and technologies for a new generation of winemaking. “Our vision remains to make distinctive, refined wines that are expressive of their terrain and rank amongst South Africa’s finest. A pursuit of quality, nothing less” - Neil Ellis.

Showcasing the collective strength of Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon, this award-winning wine highlights the noble variety through a multi-vineyard blend. It pays tribute to the culture-rich town of Stellenbosch, whose reputation for innovation, originality, resourcefulness, and creativity lies at the heart of its winemaking

Deep in colour, this wine opens with a restrained yet expressive nose of blackberry, liquorice, and subtle cedar. The palate is tight and fresh, supported by fine, dense tannins that lend both structure and longevity. Built for aging, it will nonetheless show well in its youth with a bit of decanting.

Lubanzi is a socially driven South African wine company founded in 2014, inspired by a backpacking journey along the country’s remote Wild Coast. The brand is named after a wandering dog that accompanied the founders for six days and nearly 100 miles of the trek—an experience that sparked the idea to share South Africa’s culture, landscapes, and wines with a global audience.

Working with respected winemaking partners including Trizanne Barnard and Bruce Jack, Lubanzi produces expressive wines that reflect the country’s diverse terroirs. The company also maintains a strong commitment to social impact, partnering with the Pebbles Project to support health and education initiatives for families living and working on South Africa’s wine farms.

Bursting with charm, this Cinsault Rosé opens with an inviting nose of fresh strawberries and cherries, layered with soft floral tones and a lift of tangerine zest. The light-bodied palate is lively, with bright acidity underpinning its juicy red berry and watermelon flavours, while a subtle touch of cracked white pepper extends on the finish. Understated and elegant, it's easygoing complexity makes it the perfect companion for sunny afternoons.
