Blank Canvas is the personal wine range of husband and wife team, Matt Thomson and Sophie Parker-Thomson, MW. With a focus on Marlborough, Syrah from Hawkes Bay and Pinot Noir from Central Otago, the Blank Canvas wines are exciting, small-batch and increasingly recognized as the avant-garde of New Zealand wine. Every effort is put into making wines that are distinctive and cerebral, unencumbered by a regime or badge and are not beholden to tradition. Every vineyard, variety and vintage is approached as if it is a blank canvas.

This is a sublime expression of perfumed Pinot Noir, sporting stunning aromas of red cherry, raspberry and violet florals. The fruit is accompanied by savoury, sappy undertones, complimented by softly textured tannins. Wild fermentation, 50% whole-cluster inclusion and a low-toast oak regime gives elegance, complexity and structure to the wine. Unfiltered.

Delicious with roast duck, braised lamb or filet mignon.

Proudly family owned, the Borthwick vineyard is an established vineyard situated in Gladstone, the heart of the Wairarapa. Producing quality wine for over a decade, Paddy, an experienced wine maker, has gained a reputation for producing consistently great wines. The twenty seven hectares of vines bordering the Ruamahunga River are growing on stony, free draining, alluvial soils, with a micro climate giving warm daily temperatures, cool nights and low rainfall; perfect conditions for producing distinctive, quality wines.

Traditional Burgundian techniques and minimal handling has produced a Pinot Noir with an intense bouquet of cherries and plums. Flavours of earth and spice complement a rich silky palate with a purity of fruit and finely integrated tannin structure.

A perfect pairing for grilled quail, roasted chicken or the richness of pork shoulder. This wine can also stand up to glazed salmon or a decadent pizza with sweet potato, balsamic onions and soppressata.

Lifted fruit aromas of nectarines, apricots and pineapple have integrated with fermentation in oak to produce a wine of great texture. Extended yeast contact has leant itself to a creamy palate, with almond and toasted bread aromas. This wine shows depth of fruit and great palate weight that is enjoyable now or cellar for the next 6 years.

Hans Herzog is a unique story – A man that is a true vigneron and in sole control of the winemaking and viticulture of so many different grape varieties within his 11.5 hectare vineyard. A rare individual who lives and breathes his estate, releasing only the highest quality wines, which are 100% handcrafted from his own vines.

His is a true artisan wine estate where a holistic approach to farming is not just a phrase but a way of life. Absolutely everything is done by Hans himself with the help of equally passionate people including his wife, confidante and collaborator Therese, who supports him in his relentless drive for quality and perfection.

This completely dry wine is explosively rich and impressively textured with the elegance and refinement of a stately Sauvignon Blanc. It brings intense minerality and texture from the gravelly soils to match the exotic fruit aromas. Ripe candied peel, elderflower blossom, fresh quince and melon on the nose. The oak is successfully integrated in the creamy texture. Enormous length stimulates the palate and keeps the mouth watering throughout. Great purity, leaving a refreshing but weighted mouth with great vigour and persistence from start to finish.

A perfect pairing for seared scallops with frisee and fennel salad, butter poached lobster or a spring salad with herbed goat cheese.

Escaroth Vineyard is a site that truly reflects vintage variation: this year's release simply ticks all the boxes for Pinot Noir fanatics. It has a beguiling, complex perfume that treads both red/blue fruit and an enchanting spice, game and earthy savouriness. The very low-yielding vintage (4.6 t/ha) coupled with the dry-farmed nature of the site has resulted in incredible concentration and intensity.

This Pinot Noir will pair perfectly with duck breast or rigatoni alla norma.

For winemaker and co-founder Rob Cameron, the Invivo range is all about taking some of the elegance from the old world and putting that style into our amazing grapes, all the while offering wines that are fun and a bit unique.

Tropically scented but with layers of sweet capsicum and floral lime zest rising from the glass initially. This is well backed up by a vibrant, zingy fresh palate with deceptive power and concentration. There is a creaminess to the palate from time on lees that adds a textural dimension, which is in great balance with the driving tropical fruit. This is a Sauvignon Blanc for Sauvignon Blanc lovers.

“Gidday, Tim from New Zealand here… do you reckon Graham would like to try some of our wine?” That cheeky phone call in 2011 led to TV talk show megastar Graham Norton not only putting his name to a range of Invivo wines, but personally blending them and owning shares in the company!

Graham’s wines have been awarded over 200 accolades, including: Gold at the Global Sauvignon Blanc Masters; twice Gold at the Sydney International Wine Competition; a Trophy at the UK People’s Choice Awards; 90 points from both Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator; chosen to be served in Qantas Business Class and selected for The Independent’s ‘Top Sauvignon Blancs’ in the UK.

This is a really good expression of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. It’s aromatic with some passionfruit and grapefruit on the nose. In the mouth, it’s zesty and lively, with bright citrus fruit, a hint of green, some grapefruit and a lovely tropical twist. Quite impressive and classically Marlborough - it has focus, and a good concentration of flavour.

Following the phenomenal global success of the first three vintages of Invivo X, SJP Sauvignon Blanc, Sarah Jessica Parker and Invivo co-founders Tim Lightbourne and Rob Cameron have made their 2022 fourth release together, virtually. New York-based Sarah Jessica was dialled in with Tim and Rob in from their winery in Te Kauwhata, New Zealand to create and sign off their latest blend, over a two-hour Zoom chat.

Aromas of lifted, ripe tropical fruit amongst a mingling of citrus peel with exotic guava in the back ground. The delicate oak influence underpins the fruit on the nose and in the palate gives an immediate softness and accessibility. This swiftly fills the mouth and the balanced acid structure emerges through the folds of supple savoury and fruit
sweet characters. The finish is long and, divine

Pair this delicious and fashionable Sauvignon Blanc with oysters, baked or smoked salmon, korean spicy beef or a rich blue cheese and caramelised onion tart. Not hungry? Enjoy a few glasses (or the bottle!) while watching the new Sex and the City reboot, airing on HBO Max.

While the classic expression of this famous wine style is about fruit purity and crispness, this wine represents an alternative interpretation. ‘Abstract’ is a departure from the norm. This wine is all about texture and layers of aromatic complexity derived from both fruit and winemaking. The Holdaway family vineyard in Dillons Point provides the pillar of blackcurrant, passionfruit and its signature salty minerality, while the 100% wild yeast fermentation in seasoned French oak puncheons offers savoury attraction and complexity on the palate.

This Sauvignon Blanc would pair perfectly with any fish dish.

From one of New Zealand’s pioneers of Pinot Gris. Stunning opulent aromas of apricots and rock melon. Vivaciously mouth-filling with invigorating fruit driving through the forefront, wonderfully sweet fruit from physiological ripeness, but a crisp balanced finish with added texture. A beautiful long honeyed finish for a dry Pinot Gris with no residual sugar.

Enjoy with seared or grilled fish and simple oven-roasted chicken or change it up and try with pan seared black cod with a lemon pepper aioli.
